I love how this breaks down the overall tradition. My family is german, and our ancestors followed the old germanic pagan path or specifacally Astaru.
I love this because even though, i tend to aid more to hellenistic wicca, i still enjoy the old religion of mine. I seem to be drawn toward it, but i too don't fully know why?
Good post!

Asatru is a reconstruction of Germanic faith specific to Norway and Iceland, so if your ancestors were a part of those faiths, they technically wouldn't be practicing or following Asatru.
As for Hellenic Wicca, you may want to rethink that. Hellenic deities consider themselves the highest of all divinity and Wicca is duotheistic with the Lord and Lady. While it is one thing to be eclectic, Hellenic polytheists would find mixing it with Wicca in such a way to be blasphemous. I mean no disrespect towards you, I'm just pointing out that the idea of Hellenic Wicca is highly disrespectful.

Mead is an alcoholic libation made from honey that is often used in Heathenry as offerings for the Vaettir (in the context of spirits, ancestors, and deities). When one does not have access to mead, any other alcoholic drink will do. If that is still not an option, people typically opt for milk, coffee, or juice. Blessed water can be used, but it's not really talked about very often.
By first looking at the username of the poster I wouldn't have guessed it was Personified, I like this post because it brings more detail into Norse-Pagan.
I believe in the Norse gods and still hold the belief that I will go to Valhalla when I die. I also go by the nine noble virtues and pray to my gods. However I am also practice magic and stuff. What would you say about my dilemma?

A lot of Heathens are also magical practitioners. We have nothing against it, save that Seidhr was traditionally a more feminine practice. We've grown in maturity since then, so there's really no issue at all. =p
