Video Review Information

Video Reviews are now possible for all items we carry in our store. If you have reviewed a product and have a Youtube video of it, you may submit the Youtube URL of the video as a review and we will add it. In general the following rules should be observed for a video to qualify for the SoM shop:

  • The video should focus on 1 item only (1 book, or 1 amulet for example, not 1 video about a book and an amulet), or a group of similar items (Anna Riva oils, Crystal balls, Tarot cards)
    • Other items may be mentioned, however, the bulk of the video should have a single focus.
  • The video should do at least one of the following:
    • review the quality of the item
    • demostrate how to use the item
    • contain previews (CD's, DVDs)
  • The video may be positive or negative regarding the item
  • The video may or may not mention SpellsOfMagic.com by name, but must absolutely NOT mention any other stores or websites by name (it protects from possible legal action).
  • The video should not refer to the exact price (prices can change) or the exact shipping costs, but you may mention it's price compared to other products, or to the same products from other stores. (example: shipping was expensive, or SoM had the lowest price from many stores I saw online, are both acceptable)
  • The video should be 30 seconds to 3 minutes in length

Solicited Video Reviews:
Spells Of Magic solicits video reviews. We will be glad to send video makers free samples of the items we carry in return for video reviews of those items. Along with the rules above, the following rules apply to solicited reviews:

  • You may not mention that you received the item for free, or that you recieved it in return for the video, but you may say something like, "I recieved this item from Spells of Magic".
  • You must mention that the item is from the Spells Of Magic website and that it is available for sale from there.
  • Reviews of items may still be positive or negative, however, if you choose to comment on the website or the online store specifically, you must speak positively about it.
  • Spells Of Magic will own all copyrights to the solicited review videos you produce. You will be granted a non-exclusive, perpetual license to the videos. (That is a fancy way of saying that you may freely use the videos as you would like, but SoM would actually own the rights to the video.)

If you would like to participate in our solicited video review program, please contact us stating you would like to take part, and state which items you would like to review. We will contact you shortly afterwards about acceptance or possible alternatives. Be sure to include your Youtube channel URL in the contact message you send us. We will only accept applicants for free products who have a history of creating quality videos.
