Light as in a flashlight or light as in to become enlightened? If you are expecting to say this and your wand lights up, it will not.

I highly doubt that. All we have is one sentence that is meant to be a chant. This looks like a lot of fake spells on the site, so it is safe to assume they meant literal light. If it was metaphoric, it would be mentioned in the description or chant. Since both say give me light and not Give me joy it is safe to assume they meant literal, and therefore it does not work. If you want to try it and make it metaphoric, you would need to fix the chant and set your intention before attempting it.
