The longest Lunar Eclipse of the century will happen on the night of Thursday the 28th and morning of the 29th. It will actually be the longest eclipse in 580 years.
It will be visible to most North Americans sometime after midnight or early morning and will ALMOST be a full eclipse with the moon being 97% covered by Earth's shadow at its highest point.
The Moon will be 97% covered at: 4:02am EST, 1:02am PST.
Moon Eclipse and Magic
The night of an eclipse is a perfect time to cast any spells, or to charge crystals or other magical items.
To charge items, let the Moonlight shine on your item. When you wake up in the morning they will be charged and ready for use. This is one of the simplest and most common ways to charge items. Doing it during a full Moon is most effective as it produces the most Moonlight.
