Four Winds

Ingredients Dried or fresh herbs Small bowl or bag Description This is a herbal spell which also honours the four directions. It is easy to do and simply requires that you know what you want. You can either use a single herb or a number, whichever your intuition tells you. The lists of herbs in the Principles and Components section should give you enough information to make an informed choice. This spell actually seems to work more effectively using dried herbs since they scatter to the four winds better. Spell Casting Over about a week gather the herbs you need together. Mix the herbs together. Quantities and proportions do not matter so long as you have, after mixing, a large quantity. While mixing them together bear your intent in mind. Put the mix into your bag or bowl and carry it up to a high place.Start with the direction which suits your purpose. Throw a handful of herbs in that direction saying: "(Direction) wind, accept now my offering. Hear my request". Do the same with the other directions in the same way. Now spin round at least three times either throwing handfuls of herbs or allowing them to fall from the bag, as you do. Chant: "Winds of power, winds so fine. Bring to me what is rightly mine" Stand still and allow the world to settle around you. Give thanks to the Elements and walk away.
