Egyptian goddess

-Nut:
she's responsible for sky/heavens, death/burial, demi-animals, Immortality, Physical prowess.

-In her totemic form she is a cow or a pig...

-She has no known temples.
Nut was known as a 'cosmic' deity, so she wasn't worshiped like a person, like other goddesses and gods were.

-Legend:
She is the mother of Osiris, Isis, Nephthys, set, and horus the elder.
Nut gave birth to the sun everyday and swallowed him every night. So in a way, she controlled time.
Ra asked her to raise him to the heavens, because he didn't like earth. Carrying him on her back, she rose to the sky, but the higher she went, the dizzier she became. So four gods steadied her legs and shu (shu symbolizes air) steadied her abdomen.
These gods became the four pillars of the sky.

So Nut became the extra arm, that helped Ra attach to the stars.
