These are especially good measures to take when moving into a new place, beginning ritual activities in a new space, or to release bad feelings when an inhabitant has been sick or has died.
To cleanse a single room -
On top of a newspaper, set a blue candle. Surround with a circle of salt. Burn a little sage in the room. Light the candle, making sure it won't tip over. Close the door and let the candle burn down. When finished, take newspaper, salt, candle, and bury them far from your home.
To bless your home or dwelling, chant these words throughout your house or location.

Place your right hand in the center of the front cover of your Book of Shadows. Close your eyes and visualize your energy covering and filling the book. Chant the following.
''For no one else's eyes to see,
Except for those dear to me.
Protect this book in your light,
Through the day and through the night.
Protect this book of which I speak.
Protect this book to the highest peak.''
Holding whatever object you wish to bless above your head, chant the following.
''I will serve the Great Goddess,
And give reverence to the Great God,
I am a Pagan, A stone in the ancient circle,
Standing firmly, Balanced on the earth,
Yet open to the winds of heaven,
And enduring through time,
May the old gods witness my words.''
With your right hand placed on the center of the front cover of your Book of Shadows, chant these words.

To convert the senses This blessing gives the body more connection with the spirit. It may also help with your readiness to channel. To be done at night in the moon's view. Extravagance is not appreciated. Light a large white candle.
Burn sandalwood and basal and pine. Prepare a bowl of water sprinkled with salt. Put this before you and touch it to each part of your body.
As you teach each body part chant.
To the eyes; ''Bless my eyes that I might have clarity of vision''
To the mouth; ''Bless my mouth that I may speak the truth''
To the ears; ''Bless my ears that I may hear all that is spoken and not''
To the heart; ''Bless my heart that I may be filled with love''

To the feet; ''Bless my feet that I may find and walk my own true path''
Fill yourself with understanding and, from that, love. Extinguish candle when done.
This spell should be used to cause someone with whom you have lost contact to contact you.

Light the candle and the incense. Place the picture of the person on your altar. Put 2 heaping tablespoons of salt in the palm of your right hand. Let a small amount of salt trickle into the glass while making the sign of the equal armed cross of the elements. Make this cross 3 times. Chant three times:

Set the glass on the altar and chant:
''Get in touch with me, please.''
They should contact you by the time the water has evaporated from the glass.
Take a handful of rosemary, peppermint, or lavender leaves, and add them to some boiling water. Remove the water from the heat, and let it steep for ten minutes. Strain, and use while hot to wash ceramic, tile, and walls. Pour the cooled leftovers into a spray bottle for quick cleanups.
This is a spell to grant you protection from harm and to increase your fortune.

Perform during the noon Sun when the Father Sun is the strongest. Visualize the rays of the Sun wrapping themselves around you to create a golden bubble that keeps you safe from harm. Then ask the Father Sun by saying the following:
''Father Sun, protect my back.
Keep me safe from all attack,
Be it visible or unseen,
I ask you now to intervene.
With all your magic and your power,
Protect me now from where you tower.
Secure me with your rays of gold.
Wrap me in your arms and hold
Me tightly until danger's spent,
And I am free of ill intent.
Father Sun, now hear my plea.
