My world is made of magic and we live in holy love.
All is One and All, and we are All as One.
I read and I write, all day and all night.
I watch and I wait, and I say what I see...
At the end of the day, what more can I say?
I am a middle-aged (Gen X) mother residing in sunny Central Florida. My magical journey began in '95, when I stumbled upon the New Age section of a bookstore and discovered - to my great delight and amazement - that there were actually real people who not only believed in but even PRACTICED *MAGIC*!
As a kid, I was always fascinated by stories of the supernatural, paranormal, and occult, but growing up in a Catholic family had ingrained in me the belief that all of that was just stories - fiction. There were no ghosts or witches or inexplicable experiences in "real life." I wanted to believe, but had no framework or context in which to place such faith, and even though I fully believed what they told us on Sundays, it never really fit quite right in my brain.
So at the age of 18 I dove head-first into a world of sorcery, alchemy, ethereal entities and incorporeal beings. Before the widespread availability of every conceivable topic of information online, it was far more challenging to access a broad range of esoteric perspectives. I never had a personal mentor per se with whom to explore the magical arts, just libraries, bookstores, the occasional foray to independent mystical shops, and plenty of random encounters with odd, eccentric, and often enlightening individuals.
Over the years, I've gleaned bits of insight from innumerable sources, devouring whatever books I could add to my collection from authors including Scott Cunningham, Aleister Crowley, Anton LaVey, D.J. Conway, A.E. Waite, and plenty more. I love living in this era when there is now such egalitarian access to information that would have been so closely guarded in previous epochs, only passed along in furtive lessons among initiates as wondrous mysteries incomprehensible to the dull masses.
While I am enchanted by the myriad forms that magic has manifested in throughout history and across cultures, I cannot say that I ascribe to any particular tradition - other than the motley melange of mainly Western practices that currently comprise what may best be described as "Contemporary American Magic." I am not fain to apply to myself the label of "eclectic witch," "chaos magician," or any other such amorphous nomenclature, as there is great value in dedicating one's practice to an established tradition, I (like many others) simply study all that presents itself to my curious mind and adapt what I find in a manner that most makes sense to me, always with intentions of sincere reverence and respect for the ancient, unknowable, and ineffable, humbly beseeching Divine guidance with every step I take on my path to spiritual development.
Some of the methods I most often incorporate into my workings involve herbalism and botanical magic, the use of crystals and stones, creating and employing sigils, subtle psychological tactics utilizing color, sound, scent, and other sensory cues to effect desired subconscious states, and more. I love creating spell jars, crafting my own oils and incenses, performing candle magic, and constructing an overarching atmosphere of mysticism to envelope my entire life.
Divination is deeply captivating to me, and I practice cartomancy with Tarot and other types of oracle cards, as well as several forms of sortilege (using dice, charms, stones, et cetera), pendulum dowsing, scrying with black mirrors and crystal balls, and astrology.
I absolutely love to learn, so am continuously exploring whatever esoteric, occult corridors I can discover. Folk magics, Hermeticism, Kabbalah, spiritualism, superstitions, mainstream religions, philosophy, psychology, fictional fantasies that hold echoes of universal secret truths, music that moves the soul and experiences that inspire states of inexplicable ecstasy - all this and more is my constant and eternal mental diet.
So that's a little bit about me and my interest in magic. You are welcome to contact me if you feel so moved - while I'm not always available for online engagement, I do greatly enjoy interacting with most people and generally relish opportunities to learn from and about others!
