has any one here heard the expression "Its cold as hell"? ive only heard one reference to it being cold, and that was in a video game, where Rubicante says: the frozen winds of hells ninth circle could not penetrate this cloak of flames I wear.

its odd because theres also the expression: its hot as hell.

Hell is often used in many expressions, it's only for something negative or neutral though.

Dante's Inferno contributed a lot to folk Christianity (that's probably where they got the idea of "circles" of hell.) and the final circle in his writing, was a freezer.

But a lot of Pagan underworlds are described as places devoid of energy-- cold, and dark places.

Hell could just be an intensive, too, like "literally" or "practically"-- just a word to say to make the other words around it sound stronger...

But, no, I haven't heard that expression before ^_^
