Are druids always human?

So I made a deal(contract) with an entity that I connected with to 'upgrade' my life a bit. So far so good,things are going in the right direction. However, this entity showed me in a dream that it used to be a 'druid'. I'm a bit disappointed and confused because I at first thought this spirit wasn't human, and this has to do with our agreement. Can non-human entities (like demons or other spirits) also be druids? Or is this only what humans can be? Thank you for your answers.

Druidry is not a race, it is a system of belief/religion. By my (admittedly limited) knowledge of Druidry, however, there is a belief of the progressive evolution of soul so this might mean one of two things;

The entity lived as a human, walked a Druidic spiritual path, and has since expanded into a state beyond/other than human. So, it was once human but is no longer.

Or, as an entity it interacted with the Druids as a spirit that was called on. IE one of the gods, a forest/natural spirit, or other being called on for omens or other tasks. Basically saying it has been around since the time of the druids, and was called on by them in some capacity.
