Stop someone being cross

Does anybody have a nice simple spell that helps fix a rift or argument - or just generally stops somebody being cross with you? I'm fairly new to magic, but I've had success with weather spells in the past.

My first thought would be to make something akin to a honey jar to 'sweeten' the person's attitude towards you. I think there are a couple of examples on how to put one together floating around the site, but the basic formula is to get a jar and place (ideally) a picture of the person and yourself, or a small item that the person owned along with something of your own. Then putting in sweet things that won't go bad or sour over time like honey, sugar, sweet hard candies, etcetera. Fill the rest of the way with water, seal with a solid lid, and place a bare candle on top.

Once assembled sit the jar on something that is fire safe, and that you don't mind getting wax on (wax is a pain to clean up). Light the candle atop the lid and say a brief affirmation or rhyme that includes elements of kindness, friendship, forgiveness, or other things that would be directly related to your situation and how you want it to be better. Then let the candle burn down until it goes out on its own.

Once the candle is burned, do not clean off or break free the wax that has run onto/over the lid and jar. But you can take it off of whatever you sat it on in order to move the jar to an elevated place in your home, where you can see it and be reminded of its purpose.

One thing to note, if you are sweetening an argument or mistake, this jar does not absolve whatever wrongdoing started the issue. It does not let a person avoid apology. However it would help in inspiring the people involved to be more open to hearing the apology, or more open to realizing their contributions to the issue and apologize if it is due.

A sweetening spell is about opening doors, and providing opportunities for positive movement. It is still up to you to use those opportunities and communicate in an honest way.
