With that being said, I don't think it is good for you to continue with what ever it is you are doing.
I tend to doubt more experienced, but that is allowed to be private information held by both parties. Not a good idea to continue what... I'm doing? Woh, woh, woh...let's not forget who started the arguing and temper-tantruming...NOT me. I simply rebutted his arguments against me, so please tell HIM to stop.I am not "doing" anything, other than trying to get stoney off my dern back!
See this is the problem with most young inexperienced practitioners. They read something or make it up within their own mind and it's gospel. Apart of learning is to be able to listen to those who have the experience on you and growing from that idea with your own. All you see here is Ego and a huge one with that. As Rash said earlier when you actually find me a book that's dated back to sumer and it be accurate then i will get my hat. What most fail to understand is most traditions even the old literature is all word of mouth or passed on traditions. It's not saying there's no truth in it because there is but it's usually buried deep in the root. So Stop trying to be a "know it all" and listen to people with actual logic and not some poo you find on a random site because you think it's the gospel.

Wow, I never thought that I would be saying this you YOU , but those were words of wisdom. I'm trying to be a know it all though and also, though this is a great post, it is totally unrelated to the thread...
Not everything is possible and believeing isn't all that it takes.
Lots of stuff can happen, but lighting a fire with your mind isn't possible, just as becoming something else than human isn't either.
So I think it's really funny that some people actually think it can happen, and they never actually done that or seen someone do it.

I think that there is much "lost magick" that was lost due to the mindset that people had that this magick would undoubtedly be passed on from generation to generation and it was not due to death or tragedy of some sort. However, not all of it was written down in some text hidden in a cave or something. I think it was lost because it was passed down through word of mouth most of the time. Text most likely were destroyed by witch hunters or other religious activists that felt it was "wrong" or "evil".
I think that the "lost magick" would have been other ways that people found to access the inner reaches of their minds. It is proven that we only use 10% of our brain capacity and those with "supernatural" ability (for lack of a better word) studied by paranormal psychologist use more of that brain capacity. If we could learn to use more of our brain, the possibilities are mysterious to say the least. We do not know what it could accomplish. Even scientists are attempting to figure it out.
Specific "lost magick" of the times include but are not limited to the original Furthark rune incantations and uses, the druids and their specific magickal ways, and the school of Pythagorians. The Pythagorians were so secretive that they would kill those who decided to discuss even the slightest bit of info on their studies and practices. So what was known by them is utterly lost in time.
The philosopher's stone is another "mystery" of lost magick and was believed by alchemists to hold the secrets of the world and has been discussed since 300AD. It had to have been found at some point in time, otherwise it wouldn't have lasted as long as it has. Harry Potter of course made this something of fantasy and fiction, but its been an occult mystery for ages.
This is why I personally abhor the idea most have of keeping their practices 100% secret. If someone wishes to do so for safety sake of not allowing unexperienced or corrupted people from using their magickal practices, then they should actively seek people to hand down the information to, to prevent it from being lost entirely.
