I understand about the location, but age should be necessary, most kids lie and pretend to be adults
Gender is not really nessesary but recomended
I really agree that all members should write something about themselves and Brysing is right, they should write about their interests, what they know and what they are interested in learning, this way they can be helped.
No body should lie about their, age. Age doesn't matter fully.
What matters is how someone carries themself. They may be 29 and have no respect for another's belief. Some may be 8 and can be extremely mature. Age doesn't matter, It's how a person carries their beliefs, And how they act.
The age doesn't matter at all even I know a grown up married couple who claims to be a werewolves and they have a baby as well -_-
and I'm only 13(going to be 14 days this year)
and I have full confidence on myself that I'm at least a little matured than them
it depends upon the person
I understand how it's still appropriate if someone recognizes the difference between fantasy and reality. But, I don't think my exact question was fully answered. Let me give you a scenario.
There's a young kid interested in witchcraft, but they believe that witchcraft consists of fantasy magic. They hang onto that idea for several years on and off, even as they hit their early teens. Of course, they begin to realize that witchcraft leads into something different, so they start learning about true magick and then after research, they start practicing the real path.
I've given you that scenario. Now, think about that person who currently practices the real path. Is it still healthy for that person to even be considering practicing magick because it was once just a fantasy for so long? Because if they practice, is it possible they are only trying to somehow keep that youthful fantasy alive?
There needs to be less fluff on profiles that claim to be used be a legal adult! But, I guess there's nothing we can really do about that as an online community.
Having up locations would help those who are seeking to find an in person partner to learn/practice with. But, there are kids on this site, so maybe giving them the option to keep their privacy is good because it is too dangerous for them to be seeking someone to meet in real life! That's my thought process.
If they understand the difference, and choose to pursue real magick they aren't trying to live their fantasy. If they discovered magick could not turn them into a mermaid but refused to accept this fact and continued to pursue becoming a mermaid, then I would say they are trying to live in fantasy. We are always growing and to cling to the past or an idea which has been disproven will cause us to stagnate. Take what you learn, evaluate it, and follow what you feel is right.
To me, having some kind of info on profile helps us understand that one is, at least, interested enough to take the time to do it. I have seen too many who have been gagged, then make another account, which is empty, just to get back on chat as fast as possible. I've seen some come back just to complain in forums about being gagged for "no reason". I am glad to see that mods are taking time to give a warning, so the chatter can have chance to correct the mistake, or apologize and not do it again. Too many bios are just describing what they look like, what kind of date they would like, etc. Again, this is another problem, but it shows what they are here for, and it's not magick that they seek. I see no problem with giving the country they are from, as it sometimes clues us in that English may be a problem, one that we can understand and help with. I doubt I completed my thought. Please excuse me, as I am ill, and words are harder for me to find at the moment. But I think I've made my point. Blessed Be...
