Yes, I agree. Some people, especialy the young kids and teens, are missing the point about what magic and witchcraft is all about. They watch too much television. Most of the people, again the young ones, becomes interested in magic after watching and reading stories like Harry Potter, no offense, I also enjoyed the books and movies. But being a witch isn't about flying on brooms or turning into a cat or making objects fly around the room, it is a way of life. It is about being one with nature. Sure the one thing that stories and real life magic have in common is making potions and doing spells, but even this is different from what we see in movies. You can't point your wand at someone and say something like 'expeliames' and then there is this red flash and the person gets flinged across the room. Sure when doing spells there is energy building up, but there is not all sorts of flashes and sparks and whatever. Some people are really missing the point, and it is sad. Many of the christians immediately say things like 'you are doomed to hell' when you tell them that you are a witch. They are also missing the point. I don't even believe in hell or the so called devil/satan. The other religions and the witches NEVER insults or judge others about their religion, only the christians. They think because it is the largest religion there is that they can say and do what they want. I am insulted every day by family for being a witch and I'm always doomed the the so called hell. Lol! But it is all sad. Greetings BL.
I totally agree with you Sky Wolf. I'm almost 14 but I came here because I want to learn. I mean, I watch Harry Potter sometimes and Twilight, but I know those spells are impossible. It also upsets me that people come here for role-play, it just makes me irritated.
rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr... i find that REALLY offensive i am an upper teen and i dont believe that crud, and i am christian and i dont say your doomed to hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm sorry if I offended you. I said that many of the christians is like that and also many of the teens. I know that there are some who is not like that. I didn't ment all of them is like that.
You all are missing the point, teens and kids have my full support. They want to learn but you can't take their imagination from them and blame them for those kind of spells. We should blame all those clumsy people who are in "spellcasters" coven we all know that they can write all kinds of cr** in their spellbook.
They are one who should be called kids, including admin himself!
Yes, perhaps many of them do come here to learn. But do they come for the right reasons? I think many young people get into wicca with high expectations only to discover that it isn't anything like what they see on tv. I also think that many of them get involved in wicca to get revenge on those who hurt them in some way or another. I've read many stories where this was the case.
Yes I agree with you BlackLeopard. I see far too many uneducated (in magick) people here seeking very petty revenge and just being plain silly. They come here to conjure demons and whatnot; I've seen a few posts asking for death spells, even. They come here for Hollywood glamour and get upset when their 'blow up the world' spell didn't work. It's all just so petty. I feel that a lot of people show up here seeking some sort of glory, wanting to jump right into higher magick because REAL, basic magick is not interesting enough. Every other newb seems to be some Vampire Lord of the Draconic-Satan-Lychan Death and Doom Federation. :/
What bothers me the most is people trying to do magick for things much more easily solved without it! Wanting to change gender, hair color, murder, etc.
Just because the harm you do to others is through magick does not mean you get off unpunished or unnoticed. Karma exists... and here's a news flash: You are not the biggest, baddest thing in the woods. You reap what you sew and what you allow to happen to others you allow to happen to yourself.
