A spell can have unpredictable side affects, yet what matters is what you do with it and how it affects you personally. I know little on the subject of love spells, but know what you wish to do can only be accomplished by a strong will, and knowledge; don't dabble if you don't know how to do something.
No matter what you say, there are those who will try it anyways.
It is best to caution others, instead of saying " Do not ever do this" or something like that because people do, in fact, have different beliefs on this sort of stuff. It is exactly like those who practice "white" and those who practice "black" magic. They both believe their path is right for them and will follow it. Some believe in love spells and others do not. That is okay. But what is not okay is telling them not to do it at all. You cannot deny someone their beliefs.
I had seen that situation many times, without any kind of magick involved. It may be rude, but more likely that Your spells backfired, you were in fact in a relationship with an ass.
All that "do not ewer" comes from that all magick that affect the free will of other people is by the definition black magick (even healing, protection and so on).

but love magick isnt like... pure evil. and also, he does seem pretty much a jerk. maybe look back and think, did he ever hint that this might happen? magick is easy to blame, but sometimes (like in this situation ) magick is "grey" if you need a color. not bad or good, and thus, probably not the problem...
If you think of it like that then its going to be like that its simple called the law of attraction.The law of attraction is what you think is what you attract.While you was doing the spell you should have visualize the relationship turning out good.
So do you want to say that if I cast a love spell I will suffer in my relationship ? I am agree that is not possible to have a "real" and happy relationship if you cast a love spell over someone.
I think is just a relationship problem and it hasn't a connection with love spells that you casted.Meditate on this problem and is possible to find the answer.
Personally I don't believe in things like karma,three fold law etc. I cursed once someone,however nothing came back.Actually,I am really happy right now.
Afterrall karma is just another belief,can be real for many but not for everyone.
