I take offense to whoever called 13 year olds stupid. I am 13 and I am definately not stupid, far from it. I would have agreed if you said most are immature, but instead you called us all stupid. Do you know me? Then how do you know I'm stupid?
When you say "Roleplayers" you say it like its bad and its not just it has a place and time i have many friends who roleplay but its not claiming when your something in real life its being someone else its done a lot on sites like Facebook it just needs a time and place where they all know its not real and then its okay
I think believing in vampires and werewolves is very similar to people believing in God and the Roman Goddesses and whatnot. It's not to be judged, since it is their own personal belief; no matter how old or what profession they cover.
Do not slap the title "Roleplayer" to something you define as bad. I myself am a roleplayer, but I do not seek to become harry potter, grow fangs, and a pair of cat ears. Roleplayers are generally creative persons who later grow to be fantastic writers.
In all honesty, "Fluffy" could be named a religion of its own. A religion is when a group of people believe in the same concept and practice it. Underline "Believe", please. Gods and Goddesses don't exist on our earth plane, like most would agree. Whose to say that isn't the case with vampires and werewolves?
As long as what they do does not harm anyone, they may do as they will.
Personally I take offense to you comparing deity work to werewolves and vampires. Often, especially in practices such as my own, deities are not always physical beings and the stories in lore surrounding them are not to be taken literally. Deity work and vampires/werewolves are not even comparable.
"As long as what they do does not harm anyone, they may do as they will. "
Define harm. I find it harmful in the way that the roleplayers greatly confuse potential practitioners who are looking to learn. I find roleplaying harmful in the sense that it shames real traditions and practices.
I'm sure the same way these people take offense to you saying what they believe in is wrong too. Just because it doesn't fit into your view of how the world is don't mean you right.
Let's just take a breath here. Think about what is being argued over. Werewolves, vampires, the relevancy of them.
I'm more than positive that you could all find something more important and fruitful to argue about than the credibility of an 18 year old or 13 year old. I think that the original point of this entire thread has been lost. He was trying to make a point that poeple needed to be more specific when labelling, disagreeing, or agreeing with and the reasons as to why one does label another something, disagree, or agree with them.
I suggest we all just accept that views are different for everyone, and just because someone believes something we do not, does not mean it effects us.
Make your point, and be done. You can lead a horse to water, but you can't make it drink.
