Welp, there you have it Vittorio. Shaitan is Islamic, and does not predate the Christian traditions, let alone the Hebrew traditions from which the word Satan originates.

There are frequent attempts to suggest that the term Satan, in some form or another, originates from Sanskrit. However all variations I have seen involve borrowing heavily from root words and the like to cobble together something that is vaguely plausible.
Plus, Awake, people don't realise that Sanskrit is Japhethic in origin whereas
Arabic is Semitic. Two separate and distinct branches of the linguistics
tree. Even Indo-european offshoots are very different. Some might try to
connect imaginary dots to justify what they believe. But there is no evidence
to support such claims tying Sanskrit to Hebrew. Satan is a distinctly
Hebrew Diety, unique to Judaism, just as you and Hadit have patiently
and logically been trying to explain.
I ask for proof and so you send to a conspiracy website and display to me the weakest proof you could possibly have found, just like Awaketoolong stated- trying to make ancient sanskrit words into containing Satan, even though the name satan comes much later from the hebrew language which has very little to do with the sanskrit language.
The name satan in hebrew means the opposer, they have another word for truth.
I can also tell from the wording of the abovetopsecret post that it was written by a joy of satan member, and they give satanism a bad name.
Either quote actual, factual, tangible evidence from studies of language and etymology by actual experts, or don't bother at all. This piece of evidence was not delivered by an expert nor was it from a relevant point of view.
Now even if this theory was correct and the Jewish religion did actually form the name of the being Satan from these Sanskrit words, it does not change the fact that the Hindu people did not believe in a being called Satan and he is purely a Jewish invention.
What's more is in Hebrew the word Satan does not mean truth, it means opposer or adversary.
In reading the jewish mythos I am sympathetic towards Satan too, I actually prefer him to the character of God. What I dislike is information which is biased, bigoted (as in your piece of evidence) and just plain unfactual- I do believe in truth, and there is no truth to your claims.
firstly i never spoke about the term Satan in Hebrew, secondly if you did manage to read Sanskrit then you would realize that when translated to english Satan does mean truth, thirdly Satan was worshiped by other names before, fourthly if you do believe that was from the JOS site, dont believe that but atleast have a look at this before calling me an ignorant fool.

You are correct Hadit. The Hebrew word for truth is ' e'meth'. Again,
Sanskrit and Hebrew are 2 very distinct and different languages. All the
websites that claim to tie these languages together are bunk. Philology
happens to be a hobby of mine, as well as etymology.
Whilst the Sanskrit word Satan (even though there is no such word) does mean Truth, there is no connection to Hebrew- it is not abuut the being Satan!
Secondly another example, the word hell in German means light, it does not mean they took the word hell from biblical scripture.....two words which may be the same, yet completely unrelated, do you see my point?
