Your soul is immortal. Your memory (depending on what you do in life) can live on with people thus making you immortal.

Your physical body... not going to happen.

No it is possible. Recent studies have shown that people don't die from "old age", they die from cancer or other things. If you did protection spells to protect you from cancer and other things you could live forever, or well at least longer.

Old age would be an umbrella term used to describe common factors that happen at..old age. Such as heart failure. Yes, cancer is a leading cause of death, "protecting" yourself from it will only cause you to live until another disease or failure kicks in. This is part of nature. As our body decays, the working parts stop working.

You're physical body cannot live forever. You would have to find a way to keep the organs functioning while keeping the cells and tissues from the natural process of decay.

Spellchanter, sorry to say, but that is just silly.

Death is a natural part of life. It happens to all of us eventually. The thought of immortality is terrifying. In my opinion, imortality would be a living "hell".

It's not possible, physically, to go against nature like that.

Do you wish to be immortal? Have children! Your genes will live on. As for only disease causing death, my mother was 92 when she left us. She had no diseases. She died because she was old. In one sense we are all immortal anyway. Matter cannot be destroyed, only changed.

I agree, your cells are actually 'programmed' to die. Its a proven fact. I don't agree with having children though. Why contribute to the population problem? It is pointless, and all it is is evolution trying to continue a species that has already spread so much that it is becoming a huge problem.

Well, if you think about it, there's not really a point. So you live forever big woop. That doesn't mean so do the people you care about. You would just watch all your loved ones wither away and die over and over again. Now, if it were me, I would hate that.

I didn't mean for everybody to have children,Disguised. I said,if you wish to be immortal. We are alive today because our parents,grand-parents, and all our ancestors had one or more children. When I wrote about "matter", I am saying that in that sense we ARE immortal. "Earth to earth, ashes to ashes" ?
Note the lush plantlife in a cemetery. It is lush because of the bodies buried beneath. Birds, other animals, insects, etc., feed on the plants. Ergo, we live again. The same with scattering ashes. Re-incarnation does not mean that we come back as another human. (Perhaps, in spirit!) It means that life goes on.
