Charmed is a television series with a large special effects department. Now what are you really asking?
You have to be critical of magic in fiction. Some of it is researched from real magical practices, or inspired by things that are true in a magical reality... but writers twist it, they make up a system to fit their invented settings, for the purpose of an interesting fictional plot -- NOT so that you can learn to use it in real life by watching their shows and reading their books.
It isn't even Armchair magick, since the writers don't even expect any of it to work. So, it doesn't.
?_? You need to read more, and less TV...though TV is good...and Charmed is fascinating series... ^_^
In any case, you should know the limitations that we got as human beings, and most spells will not work like in the show...and the powers cannot be like the show... ^_^ if it was, we will be consider extremely dangerous...
but there is telekinesis and premonitions, people have those couldn't someone have the ability to levitate, freeze time, blow things up, or have empathy and I do read a lot of books but they mostly just have like visions or telekinesis.
yes peaple can freeze time explode thing and levitate but you must now that it isn't as easy as it looks nor is it as easy to accomplish it just takes practice and its all possible but the show isn't real only parts of the information is real but not the magic on the show

^_^ well I never say they were not real, but how they are shown is not real. ^_^ we got the power to do many things, but the results are not going to be like in the show...things tend to take time, in one year you are not going to learn how to levitate....unless you are a prodigy in magick.
the usual, seeing ghosts, see the past, present (as what is going on in your current life) and future, set things on fire (only one percent of the population in the whole world can actually set things on fire with their mind power), move things, empathy, telepathy (which is not like in the movies where you can read thoughts, is more like you get pictures, and probably some words) ^_^ You can do more and more, but I cannot think of them right now.
