Vampires??

Why are people so inclined to say vampires don’t exist?

I understand people have the notion they are blood-sucking people caught in-between the living and the dead, do to the popularity of Gothic fiction from modernized novels like that of Bram Stocker. But has anyone really taken the time to do the research of the traditional vampire?? I have and I believe they are real.

Vampire, upir, wampir, vampyr and vapior may very well have derived form the word ubir, a Turkish word for “Witch”. A European interpretation of a vampire is a living sorcerer who is able to send out his or her shadow soul (and recall it when desired) and that soul is interpreted as a vampire. The witches/sorcerers/shamans/magical practitioners send out this "shadow soul" seeking revenge. The most common hex or curse done by the shadow soul is feeding on/draining ones Mana or Live force making the enemy weak or even causing death.

When most people hear the word vampire they associate it with the Hollywood version the media has output.

There's more than one explanation as to where it came from. If you would look in the posts, it's been discussed before.

Countess Elizabeth Bathory was a shining example of why people began to believe in vampires. Long story short, she thought blood made her younger and killed many young girls then bathed in their blood. In reality, she was a bit off her rocker and sadistic. But people have a tendency to cling onto things.

In nearly any mythology you can find a story with vampiric quality. In Greek mythology, it isn't uncommon to see stories depicting beautiful women who turn into monsters at night, feast on the blood and flesh of men, or vice versa.

There's more than all that, obviously, but I could go on forever giving possible sources. Point is: there's a ton of old myths and legends surrounding vampires.

The vampires people want to believe in have super human strength, speed, senses, abilities such as compulsion, etc... The fact that people, highly delusional people, have and may drink human blood is a mute point to them. And to be honest to myself as well, but that's not really the point. I guess you could argue that these are vampires as people who feed off energy are labeled psi vampires so the main thing about having the vampire title is feeding off humans in some way.

Ok really? Yes but think what you want. I'm sure you believe in somethings others would find farfetched. Is the dictionary and the web the the only place you get your information? I hope not! I got the information from different places but a basis out of Judika Illes encyclopedia of spirits. And I have a feeling alot of people wouldn't think on this so negatively if the spirit(s) or “shadow soul” weren’t called vampires.

If you check out discoverychannel.com, they have some interesting stories behind the "myths" of vampires. I may say that someone cannot use a spell to change their body into something else, however I would not refute the existance of any creature. I do not care if that gives me the rep of a fluffy again lol.

I will state this one more time for the records... Lack of proof is not evidence to the contrary. However, people should not delude themselves into thinking that magic will change their physical body into another creature. The meaning of the occult is "the study/search of the unknown and paranormal". Some people do take it a bit far though :)

k, bram stocker vampires do not exist. there is a medical condition where people have low iron and the sun burns their skin easily, but i don't believe they're fake. same with psy-vampires are real. the popularized blood sucking dracula vampires i don't believe are real. if you want to argue the astral plane, i'm fine with that. if Interview with a Vampire is to be taken seriously, no. it would be cool, but i don't think it's real. same goes for meremaids and werewolves. it hurts me to say werewolves don't exist in reality [because i love them so] i doubt they're real. [not gonna get into the werewolf debate though]

Try circlesanctuary.com
Some do have a blood fetish some dont. Kind of like some witches cast bad spells, some dont. The religious aspect is not that bad, but it is not what most are looking for.
I like your spelling of vampyer. You are the first person I have seen spell it like that, good job.
