SHIELDING

• What does shielding mean?

Shieling comes from the world shield which is something that is used for defensive purposes.

• What does shielding mean in magick?

Shielding in magick is a defensive mechanism that protects you from spirits, negative energies, spells being casted on you. Also when it comes to psychic abilities it protects you from being overwhelmed by emotions or energies or hearing/seeing spirits too much and so goes on depending on the ability of course.

• Is shielding and casting a circle the same thing?

Yes and No. Shielding is what the word says a shield that you can carry around, it can have any shape you want and once you have casted a shield you are protected until the shield wears off. A circle has the same purpose it protects you from the same things. But a circle is usually casted around your work place and its not something you can carry with you around since you have to close the circle after your work is done. So yes they have the same purpose but a circle isnt movable like a shield is.

• Who needs to learn to shield?

Everyone needs to. There are some people that subconsciously shield their whole lives repeatedly without knowing it but most people need to learn this. Especially those practising magick is nescessary to know this.

• How long does a shield last?

It depends from the type of shield someone has created it and the energy he/she raised for it and wether he/she was "attacked", with negative energy for example, cause a shield that has been damaged is weaker and wears off faster but usually a shield lasts no more than few days and that is considered long.

• How often does someone need to shield?

That depends on the person. For example someone who is open to psychic abilities like an empath he needs to shield more often than most people cause otherwise he gets overwhelmed by emotions ect. But i propose against shielding all the time cause a shield closes you offf and makes you more distant and cold to your surroudings.

• What do you need to know before you try to shield?

Energy manipulation cause you wont be able to build a shield otherwise and good vizualisation.

• Is a shield only for a single person?

A shield can be casted by someone for himself or it can be casted for another person/persons like a family member he/she wants to protect or an object like his b.o.s. or a place like his house. It is not limited to a person's self.
