I have had the same reacuring dream for months cple times a month noe. A dark figure grabs me by my feet I have a heavy cheast I scream but nothing first time it drug me out if bed down the hall into my kitchen. My gf came around the corner said are u awake I was gasping for air she reached her hand down soon as she touched me I awoke . Its gotten to the point of fear to sleep have I stirred something up that I shudnt of please if anyone has anyclue help please
It could just be a build up of negative energies around you. Try breath meditation and warding the negative energies away from where you live? I have seen it many times when people in houses all begin to have "nightmares" and become very stressed and aggravated just because the amount of negative energy is not in balance with the amount of posative.
If that doesn't work then maybe try and meditate and contemplate the dream, maybe it's meaning would become more clear then.
You might want to check for mundane reasons to your dreams first, check with your doctor to make sure that there are no medical reasons that may be causing the dreams, some times physical pains transition into dreams also conditions such as sleep apnia and other conditions can transition into our dreams (we do have some awareness of our physical body when we dream though we tend to integrate that awarness into the dream itself unless the pain, etc. is so severe that it wakes us up), this is just a safety precaution, if its a medical condition influencing your dreams and you treat the problem as if it is of occult/spiritul origin you could put yourself at serious risk (always look for a mundane cause first before concluding that it is of an occult/spiritul nature). If the dreams are being caused by negative energies, spirits, psychic attack(s), purple amethyst is a good multipurpose stone for protection against things that target the mind
I just went and seen my Dr last week did a full work up so far all clear. He gave me something to help me sleep but like I said I'm half afraid to sleep to I have yet to take this medicine. I think I will be trying meditation and maybe even a protection stone the dream is reacuring and I have the same feeling every time its always a dark figure . Shortness of breath can't scream last dream I drempt when the darkness had ahold on me I grabbed my girl and again soon as I touched her it disappeared. She is a Buddhists and wears Buddha on her at all times I'm wondering if its her out the charm that's warding what ever this is away. Iono I've researched and read and read I'm out of answers just looking for outside opinions for help now .. thank you for your answers I will try anything..
You can try to cleanse your home,or the room where you sleep,there are different methods on this,such as cleansing the corners of a room with sage :-) It will get all the negativity out of the room and the smell will ease your mind before sleeping.
I've written about this before, so I'm just gonna to reuse the material that I've used before.
What you've described sounds like Sleep Paralysis--a phenomenon in which people, either when falling asleep or waking, temporarily experience a sense of inability to move. Sleep paralysis usually strikes panic and is often accompanied by hallucinations. These hallucinations can be violent. Some people even hallucinate about sexual assault, which they've attributed to demons. No doubt they feel very real.
Here are a few ways to help you wake up from sleep paralysis
1. Don't Fight
If you feel like you are being held down and you can't move, do not fight back. This will intensify the experience. Not only is fighting back likely to increase the feelings of being held down (so much that it may seem like you are being crushed), but fighting back will also increase the fear, triggering emotional centers of the brain and strengthening this lucid nightmare. Controlling fear is the most important part during these moments. Instead, try to relax and tell yourself, "This is a sleep paralysis, it is temporary, it will pass and I am okay."
2. Feeling pressure on your chest?
Don't push against it. If you feel like a pressure on your chest is pushing you into the bed, relax and mentally pull in the direction in which you're being pushed. What happens is that you eventually "pop" into a full-on dream, or even wake up.
3. Small movements
Wiggle your toe, finger, clench your feet. Most of the feelings of paralysis are in the trunk of your body. So focus. In many cases, this will break the paralysis.
4. Focus on your Breath
An easy way to stop these nightmares is to do some controlled breathing. Controlled breathing does several things at once. For starters, it lessens the feelings of chest pain that sometimes accompany sleep paralysis. Breathing is autonomic like the heart's beating or digestion, so it's not paralyzed like the big muscles in our arms, chest and legs. But breath can be controlled with attention or be affected by severe fear, which may be why sleep paralysis sufferers forget to breathe when under attack. If you can control your breath, you can control your fear. Simply draw your breath in at a normal rate, and exhale fully, using all of your lung capacity. Notice that you can breathe fully without obstruction. This technique will keep you calm as the sleep paralysis runs its course. A few moments of focused breathing with a strong intention to wake up is effective.
5. Think of someone or something that calms you down
Thinking of someone or something you associate with peace, love and safety. This could be Jesus, the Dali Lama, Archangel Michael, a poem, a song, a candle flame, a prayer or even someone you know personally, like your grandmother. This will help you relax.
6. Coughing
Like breathing, coughing can be autonomic or consciously regulated. By coughing on purpose, you can jar yourself awake.
7. Make faces
When you realize you are in sleep paralysis, scrunch up your face. In other words, make a face like you just smelled something bad. Snarl and squint. Do this two or three times in a row and the paralysis will break. This is apparently full proof.
8. When you wake up
After you wake up, get out of bed immediately and turn on a light. Wash your face with cold water and have a glass of milk. If you just stay in bed, the chance of sliding right back into sleep paralysis is pretty high.
Do some research on sleep paralysis. The more you know about it, the better you will be at dealing it, even in your sleep.

I have had this dream id say a dozen times in the last two to three months . Usually wen my girlfriend is not in the bed with me I have it more . I think only once she was next to me and awake and she said I just started to take like heavy shallow breaths and almost looked like I was seizing and I reached out for her hand like I stated before when I touch her I awake same in every dream.all the dreams are a little different but she is in everyone and if I touch her or she touches me in the dream I awake. Ofcourse it scares you. Sleep Paralysis accompanied with hallucinations can be traumatic, specially when you dont know what's going on. It's like being awake in your nightmare. Also as people have suggested here, do a cleansing and protection ritual before you sleep. It will prep your mind and create a feeling of safety. This will ease the stress you feel when you're falling asleep. And keep a little something with you for protection, it can be a crucifix, an amulet, a dreamcatcher, or even old rusted iron nail. This way at a subconscious level, you feel as though there's someone or something looking out for you. A feeling of security will also help reduce the frequency of these nightmares
