"Real" vampires, as in those creatures who arise from the dead and walk the earth drinking the blood of the living do no exist.
Vampires such as those in books like "Interview With a Vampire" and the "Twilight" movies are not real.
People who call themselves Sanguinarians are not real vampires. They are simply people engaged in a role-playing lifestyle in which they call themselves vampires, but they are just human beings.
Energy vampires are those who claim they have to have energy from others in order to stay healthy. The term energy vampire is a new one. We used to simply refer them to energy leeches. Their claims to need the energy of others is false, it is a sort of addiction they choose to indulge in. There is nothing special or truly vampire about them.
Actually there are multiple books out by reputable authors proving the psychic vampires exist and how to incorporate psychic vampirism into your energetic practice. I actually one should do their research before making such a statement. I don't really get or understand how some people on here are quick to say something doesn't exist or something can't happen. I believe with magic anything is possible. But with that being said there are some spells on this site that are completely fiction .. the key is to sort through and find what is useful for you.
I know I totality went into another direction with my post. sorry about that but I do believe that psychic vampires are real or I should say psychic vampirism.
Oh I don't deny there are people out there who suck energy from others. They are unpleasant to be around and to be their victims as they leave you tired and drained. But vampires? No, just people who have convinced themselves that this is a valid way to feel good even at the expense of others.
Believe me, in the thirty years I have been practicing in the occult community I have met my fair share of these folks and I avoid them whenever possible as in the long run they are unhealthy to have anything to do with. In terms of modern psychology many would fall under the various Personality Disorders by the fact that they see only their own needs and care nothing about how that impacts others.
I believe that they call themselves psychic vampires because it gives them a sense of importance and power when in fact they are not really vampires, just leeches.
Yeah, psychic vampirism is definitely more of a fancy name to call something that can really be quite nasty, you've probably met people who do it, mostly I've found that it's subconscious, and they don't even know they'd be called that in some circles.
Usually they're hyper and over-stimulated in social situations, tend to like to touch and or the conversation, usually quite nasty and socially manipulative when you scratch the surface and definitely are a drain to be around :/ the somewhat exception I've found to this is a friend of mine, a philosopher type, who thinks about everything on a lot of levels in a very short space of time, and tends to get a bit petty or pedantic, and sucks up time and energy for himself and others because of this. Sometimes I literally have to tell him I need to rest in silence for a while during or after a big debate or conversation; he's lovely as a human, just very very tiresome sometimes. He's also hyper in social situations but it manifests more as nerves than as attention seeking which is just his character.
