Hello my name is Amvrosios! For the past week, Ive been visited by spiders everywhere I go: I found some on the dinner table, in the shower, on car rides (in my new and clean car btw), and Im camping miles away from home for the solstice and spiders are wandering everywhere. I understand that spiders represent weaver of destiny, creativity, and patience but what I dont understand is why theyre appearing to me. And its always Brown Recluse spiders that appear. Could anyone tell me deeper meanings behind Brown Recluse spiders or even spiders in general? Thank you in advanced!
If your thinking of the symbolism of a spider in a spiritual terms. It does mean creativity, patience, a destined arrival of a dream or idea and etc. Personally I don't believe its spiritual because your camping and spiders of course love to be in nature.
Therefore other spiritual symbolism for spiders are that the sight of them may signify the completeness of a goal, personal goal or dream (goal, idea, concept, task, etc).
Spiders actually do not have negative connotations in spirituality. Also in nature house spiders catch and eat insects such as flies and ants. Insects sometimes can bring disease or illness and spiders catch and do away with them.
Fun Fact: House spiders aren't the ones that crawl into bed and bite you and are uninterested with people only living out their lives.
As for Brown recluses I know little of them. I suppose they have the same spiritual symbolism as the general spider.
The above post is very informative, I think the information provided there is great.
I don't know that brown recluses have specific symbologysurrounding them (though being venomous could add another layer to the interpretation) but brown recluses, true to their name, tend to be extremely shy and aren't seen often. There are a couple spiders that could be mistaken for them, but if they're definitely brown recluses, because of the rarity of so many sightings at once, I would say the likelihood of it being significant is more likely. Of course, it's up to you to decide whether it really is!
Lostsoul, have you ever considered trying to treat your arachnophobia? You can do it by yourself at home, and it's surprisingly fast and easy. I went from getting anxious at even photos of spiders to being comfortable with them crawling across my clothing. I suspect I could get an even stronger result if I repeated the process. I'm always hesitant to use the word "spell," but well... that's pretty much what it is.
All you have to do is get yourself close enough to a spider to get just a *little* nervous. It doesn't even have to be (and probably should not be) a live spider. It can be an image, a sculpture, a preserved spider... basically anything as long as it evokes the feeling of arachnophobia. I used a high-detail photo that I found online.
Focus on your spider until you begin to feel anxious. Then remove the spider. Put it away and/or walk away until you feel completely at ease. Wait 10 minutes, and then return your focus to the spider. Repeat this process a few times. As early as the next day, you should feel a marked reduction in your overall phobia.
Its not that I have arachnophobia, I love spiders! I keep finding them everywhere I go. Its not just camping, but theyre all over my car, my house, everywhere I go. I recently found out that the spiders Ive been seeing have been wolf spiders and the reason Ive been seeing so many lately is because theres actually been a baby boom of Wolf spiders due to climate change! Especially in the region of Alaska where I live.
Thank you to all who responded! You all have been very insightful.
Reminds me of a story by one of my favorite authors, Dennis Wheatley, the story is The Haunting of Toby Jugg. The evil dude in the story sics spiders on you. Just to say something.
