Nobody can guarantee a spell will or won't backfire. All spells have the potential to do so. [same with not working, or not working how you expected] This is why you must think through spells before you cast. Be aware of what could possibly happen and ask yourself if you're okay with it. Reading over this specific spell, it's a simple chant, so the risk is low, but same with the odds of it working. It depends entirely on the witch's ability to conjure magick and direct it. Charge all your hatred for this person and visualize how you wish for them to suffer. When you're about to scream, begin chanting to release the energy and keep chanting until you feel either calmer, or that the spell is complete [I can't give an exact number]
