Meditate for a while and do anything to get set your soul up for anything to communicate with you then when you feel others in your precense speak this out loud in a clear commanding unwavering voice Dicam necessitatem quoniam elementa virtutis opus sit vobis detur mihi pretium sed vires meas, atque ad extra virtute tantum, sed infirmus sum simul are.strong sic habeas manere prope et nostra nobis fiet res ita fiat semper then when you are finished you should feel a precense near you occaisonally

Oh and you may wanna bind that spirit.
I honestly have not tried this and am at no level of comfort to to do this.
So someone please test it fo me

Is it safe to try?

If you do not speak Latin, do not use Latin. Also, this is rather simplistic, so unless you already work with spirits, I doubt this works. When the veil is thin, maybe, but the thicker the veil, you need something to connect the spirit in question with the physical realm. I would flesh this out, add some items, cast a circle of protection, so forth.
