This spell in itself is essentially just a quick meditation and affirmation. Sitting, being still and present in the moment, gather focus of intent and make a declaration and invitation. The tricky bit is understanding the pitfalls of expectations, and figuring out what you are asking for. To that end, here is some food for thought;

-Place your invitation without expectation of how it will be met. For you will not receive based on what you want, but based instead on what you need.

-on that vein, don't consider what you want to invite. Consider the goal you are after. Then allow the being that would best support your goal make itself known. For example, if you are wanting help in spiritual growth and exploration then a spirit-guide would be a good thought to invite. If you are wanting to build safety and connect with a more protective practice perhaps a spirit-guardian might be the thing to call for. Or to grow and have support in magical paths perhaps ask for the help of a co-magician to share its wisdom and experience. A beings form is far less important compared to what it can teach you. ...Actually the form itself can be a source of insight so all the more reason to let it be what it will be.

-Consider that your guide(s) may already be with you. That it has already been in the background, arranging synchronicities and nudging thoughts as an unrecognized muse. Perhaps when you begin, invite what may be already present to make itself known and become an active part of your journey.
