If you are a beginner in working with your own energy this is the perfect exercise for you. It is simple,fast and effective.

I do this exercise to warm myself up. One thing you must always do before completing or participating in any spell is ground yourself, and shield yourself. It is very important.

Grounding yourself: I like to vision a root of a tree growing beneath my feet and lowering itself deep into the ground and connecting within the earths core. Now you are able to use the earth energy below you. Once you feel you are connected then you can shield yourself.

Shielding yourself: Imagine a white light coming from the moon and surrounding you like a bubble. Make sure you really envision it. Make it hollow. The bubble can be any color, but I use white for the light of the higher power.

Once you are grounded and shielded you can now begin.

1.Hold your left hand out in front of you. Have your palm facing up.
2.Hold out your right hand, and have it parallel to your left.
3.Hold out your first finger, and gently close the others inward toward your palm. (Your right hand should look as though you are pointing.)
4.Next, point your right finger towards your left hand.
5.Close your eyes, clear your mind and imagine energy running through your body. Picture the energy coming from the roots below you and making its way into your feet, then up your legs, your chest, then your arm, then your hand.
6.Imagine the energy leaving your right finger and flowing into your left hand.
7.Keep your focus strong, and the energy can be of any color. (I like to picture my energy as lightning.)
8.After a few seconds you should feel a tingling sensation in your left palm. You may even be able to feel a warming sensation. THIS IS GREAT! If you do not feel anything, just keep focusing. Remember to clear your mind, and really envision the energy flowing.

After you are done,
1. Leave yourself shielded, and imagine white light entering your body. Imagine it flowing though your veins, bones, etc.
2. Unground yourself. Just imagine all the negative energy (Emotions, pain, anxiety, etc.) you wish leaving your body and flowing into the ground. As the negative energy flows into the ground imagine the roots going with it. You are no longer grounded, and you should feel refreshed.

I hope this works for you, as it does for me. This is a a great exercise that anyone can do. Good Luck!
