10 Unclassified Spells from Raven's Gate

You need to point on a person and say:

"Higady, Pigady, Pong!i Give you a mind of a frog."

Objective:

To trade places (mentally) with a dog or cat, or other animal.

Setting:

Home, Zoo, Wilderness, etc.

Instructions:

1. Relax your body as completely as you can. Calm your mind, eliminating all thoughts, which do not relate to your intent and purpose. Sit so that you are comfortable, and as nearly as possible on the same level with the animal you will be working with. Lie down if you like. The important thing is that you are able to comfortably make eye contact with your animal partner in this exercise. It is also important to satisfy yourself that the animal is likewise comfortable and secure with you.

2. Take a deep breath. As you slowly exhale, look into the animal's eyes, and imagine that a part of your awareness is being transmitted through your breath into the animal's mind. Watch the animal breathe, and imagine that a part of its awareness is being transmitted into your mind.

3. Continue looking directly into the animal's eyes until you feel your consciousness merge with the animal's consciousness.

Benefits:

As the boundaries between you and the animal dissolve, you may feel as if you've really traded places with a member of another species, as though a part of you has become the animal this is the height of subjective merging. You may begin to feel compassion for another species. You'll also probably recognize some of the artificial differences between the human and animal worlds. You may be able to feel or sense the actual flow of the animal’s emotions and mental imagery. Should you accomplish this then it should be no trouble for you to contract with the animal to serve as your magical partner. Asking another to become such a partner also places upon you the responsibility of becoming its partner. I would not recommend contracting an animal to become your familiar and then treating the animal as a pet. A pet is something you possess, own. A Familiar, to my way of thinking, is an individual who has entered into a mutually beneficial relationship (partnership) with you, and therefore should be afforded the respect and consideration due a partner.

If you're caught between what you feel is right and what others tell you to be or do, try this spell to find the strength within to break free.

On a New or Full Moon, gather the ingredients below and go to a place where you can be undisturbed for at least 30 minutes.

Cast your circle and center yourself. Take the mangled object you've chosen and meditate on the complex patterns and jumbled look of the form. Say this:

''Tangled and twisted,
My mind and my life
With connections to all I see.
I now break free from those that aren't right,
And replace the holes that there be.
I change the bad and replace with good,
And mend and heal and spin,
With the help of the weaver of the web of life,
I escape and am now set free''.

While saying the above, cut the mangled object apart, imagining the situation breaking free from the negative influences that affect your judgment and life. Either bury or burn the negative energies.

Bide ye Wiccan laws ye must,
in perfect love and perfect trust.
Live ye must and let to live,
fairly take and fairly give.

Form the circle thrice about,
to keep unwelcome spirits out.
To bind the spell well every time,
let the spell be spake in rhyme.

Soft of eye and light of touch,

Deosil go by the waxing Moon,

Widdershins go by the waning Moon,
chanting out a baleful tune.
When the Lady's Moon is new,
kiss the hand to her times two.

When the Moon rides at her peak,
then the heart's desire seek.
Heed the North wind's mighty gale,
lock the door and trim the sail.

When the wind comes from the South,
love will kiss thee on the mouth.
When the Wind blows from the East,
expect the new and set the feast.

Nine woods in the cauldron go,
burn them quick and burn them slow.
Elder be the Lady's tree,
burn it not or cursed you'll be.

When the wheel begins to turn,
soon the Beltane fires will burn.
When the wheel has turned to Yule,
light the log the Horned One rules.

Heed ye flower, bush, and tree,
by the Lady blessed be.
Where the rippling waters flow,
cast a stone and the truth you'll know.

When you have a hold and a need,
hearken not to other's greed.
With a fool no season spend,
nor be counted as his friend.

bright the cheeks and warm the heart.

These eight words the Wiccan Rede fulfill,

An Ye Harm None, Do What Ye Will.

Fill your bath at night and open the window so that the moon's rays will Come in and fall on you while you bathe. Put Myrtle leaves, Elderberries, Genitian, and Orange flowers into the bath. Wash yourself completely in the solution, and say the following out loud:

''Oh as I declare,
Cleaning and despair,
I call on you, Oh Goddess of the moon,
Clean me and remove all despair,
As I worship you.''

Do this at least three nights in a row, and all jinxes or hexes will be removed. To make it stronger, as you dry yourself off with a fresh towel, stand in the moon's rays and repeat this chant:

''If you believe it, it shall be.''

Shaft of an arrow. Traditionally this was performed on the shore of a lake, or other calm body of water (such as a Bay). It was necessary to be able to see the ''path of the Moon'' in the water. This ''path'' is the reflection of the moon, stretched along the surface of the water. To perform this spell, you must take a new arrow and place the symbols of your wish/desire along its shaft. Meaningful words or phrases may also be added. When the Moon is full, go to the shore, and face the water. Fix the arrow into your bow and gaze out upon the path of light (which leads to the Moon). Next, speak the words of enchantment, then release the arrow:

''Where path of Light, to Moon I see,
The powers of the Queen shall be!
Shaft of wood, as shaft of light,
Earth to moon, does now give flight!''

The arrow can either be shot out into the path on the water, or upward towards the Moon. The arrow was sacred to Diana, and was considered to carry special powers and blessings, in this type of spell. This is a folk magic level spell, and speaks of the early Pagan simplicity concerning magic (more of the Shaman roots). My mother used to say that a ceremonial magician must prepare for magic, and wait upon the proper time and setting. But a witch can pick up a twig, anywhere, anytime, and work a spell of magic. I thought that I would add a couple more basic sea spells, since I still have some room on this post.

1. To gain favor with the Goddess, form your name with white petals upon the shore, so that the tide will carry them out. This is a very old part of the Janarric Initiation ceremony, which ends with the new Initiate performing this, so that he/she is ''introduced'' to the God & Goddess, through the naming spell.
2. To break an ''evil'' spell (or cure an affliction) form 3 connecting towers out of wet sand, near the shore of the sea. Take 3 dark shells (or spotted shells) and place a symbol of the thing you wish removed, on each. Use a substance, which will wash away in the water. Place one of the shells upon the top of each tower. Then simply sit, and focus on the towers as the waves come and break them down. In your mind, see the power of the sea destroying the thing, which you desire to remove

Best time to do this spell:
In the early morning-to make the spell even stronger - do it as the sunshine's on you!

As the sun rises in the morning, get somewhere it can shine on you (even laying in bed is okay for this one!) As you feel the warmth of the sun shining on you, see in your mind's eye a bright light . Feel thus pure and white light surrounding you and outlining your body, leaving no openings. Feel it completely surrounding you in light and warmth (you will fee it too) as you surround yourself in this warm and wonderful light, say to yourself out loud or merely in your head:

"May the white light surround me,
and protect me from all harm.
This is my will, so mote it be."

Then simply go about your day. You can also send white light to others by simply surrounding them with white light in your mind's eye and substituting the person's name for me in the incantation above. You will notice immediately a change , as you walk past, people will try to catch your eye and smile.

On the full moon, take your cauldron and put some water in it. Position it so that the light of the moon shines on it and then scoop'' up the moon's light (you're symbolically scooping up the moon's silver) while saying the following words:

"Lovely Lady of the moon,
Send to me your wealth right soon.
Fill my hands with silver and gold,
All you give, my purse can hold."

Remember to leave a little gift (milk and cookies) for the Little people.

Before doing this one, it helps to me clear my third eye with the fire. I do this by visualizing and feeling the power and heat of the flame being absorbed by my third eye, then thanking the flame for lending me it's power. But do what ever feels best for you.

When you wish to contact your psychic mind: sit before a fire, well out of range from flying sparks. Close your eyes for a moment or so. Relax. Still your consciousness. Then open your eyes. Look directly into the flames. Don't strain your eyes, blink normally. Breathe deeply. When you're at peace, say these or similar words in a whispered voice:

"Blazing fire As you dance,
Give me now the Secret glance.
Call upon my Second sight;
Make me psychic With your light.
Blazing fire Shining bright,
Give me now the Second sight."

Repeat until your eyelids grow heavy. Divine the future within the fire's restless flames.

Sometimes, something goes wrong with a spell, and you need to reverse the effects. The following spell will break a spell gone awry. Your magickal items/tools should include anything representing protection, balance, centering, and perhaps an object from the original spell. Be sure to cast your circle properly before practicing any magick ritual.

Chant:

"On the Eve of (date). I cast a spell, The effects I created, I now must quell, Specifically (State intention) May this spell be lifted, and I now be gifted With (State what it should be)."
