Open your plastic bag and place your Sweet Pea Petals inside in the bottom visualizing a new friendship being planted
Drop the dirt on top of the petals in the bag, imagining a new friendship growing.
Carefully place your Lemon Peelings on top of the dirt, and sprinkle the Rosemary next to the Lemon peelings.
Close the bag carefully while saying the following chant:
"I open myself up for a new friendship, allowing it to grow as long as it needs. I request in the God and Goddesses help in hand leading me to the right friendship for me. While this candle is their guiding light, I will be looking for their sight. This is my will, this is my plea, so mote it be"
Light the candle while doing the chant and place it on top of the bag, if needed, place a metal jar lid on top of the plastic bag then put your candle on that, allow the candle to go out on its own, pay attention to the smoke of the candle fire. If needed, snuff out the candle.
When the candle has burned all the way down and has gone out on its own you may bury the bag outside. If you choose not to bury it, you may place it in a safe place where it won't be bothered.

Make all of your usual journey preparations. Once they are complete, honor the spirits and ask them to bless the area in which you will be working. Call your power animal (fylgja) to you and merge. This will protect your spiritual body on your journey.
Place the offerings around the tree you intend to dedicate. Once you have finished, don your hood and sit with the tree. Start your recording device. Sing your vardlokkur for entering the shamanic state of consciousness. Place the hood down over your eyes.
Once you have altered your state, begin singing your journeying or traveling vardlokkur. Have the spirit of your fylgja take you to "meet" the tree. Introduce yourself. As part of your introduction, begin to softly sing your personal vardlokkur or a power song.
After a few moments of singing, ask the tree to sing his or her varlokkur to you. Learn this song. Ask the tree what it needs from you in order to become a spiritual center in your life. Thank it for its willingness.
Lay the cord out before you with scissors in one hand and say aloud:
"By vexing thought and wicked speak, erode their thoughts until their meek. Rot their lips, lies on tongues, fill their rage, like water in lungs. Thinned hair, coarse voice, bonds broken, too hard to bare. Withered heart and troubled soul, break them apart this is my goal"
Take the cord and cut it in half with the scissors as messily and uneven as possible to represent an unhappy break-up.
Dispose of the cord pieces separately or destroy them by burning them.
