3 FOLD LAW!

I'm a nice person, I personally don't believe in hurting people, BUT what do you do when others hurt you. Here is a a scripture from my favorite book "Utterly Wicked: Curses,Hexes,and Other Unsavory Notions "....."Through the Rede, the Threefold Law, and the Laws of Karma may apply to most of us, it may not apply to all. It could be that some of us live by the Golden Rule.(You know the one. Its that rule that orders us to do unto others as we would have them do unto us.) Well, it doesn't hold water either. If I caused intentional harm to someone, I'd certainly expect for them to act in kind. Case closed. " I've enclosed this because I definitely agree with her words....if someone harms me, and I harm them back I consider it self defense. Its like when your a child and your parents tell you, "If someone hits you, you'd better hit them back!" I agree with this in every sense of that! I would like to know everyones thought on all of this...

Before anyone replies to this post, I want to tell you all a brief summary about my life. I've been molested by a cousin, abused physically and verbally by my grandmother, raped twice by the person I have a child with who also tried to kill me and our child while I was pregnant, AND suffered years of being bullied by my family and outside people. I've lived a tough life, and I was always the one that was timid. I even had a best-friend who's boy-friend left me threatening messages while calling me everything in the book...all this simply because he was abusing her and was jealous of our friendship! Again I don't believe in going around harming others but in my own personal experience...how much pain can one person take? What do you do? Do you keep quite or do you eventually say enough is enough and fight back?

I have always thought along the lines of what is neccisarry for my and the survival of my children

I haven't been through nearly half as much as you have but, what I did go through, I eventually said "ENOUGH!"
I don't believe in hurting anyone "just because". However, in my opinion, justifiable revenge or self defense isn't a bad thing. For example...I would do anything to protect myself and my family. if someone harms in any way, I will fight back and I have.

I believe at some point you have to stand up for yourself and for your loved ones and what you believe in.

I truly believe from the bud dist scripture....do thee unto others as others shall and will do unto thee.

Or the bible version. A eye for a eye.

You can rig the three fold law using the same basic method as the one I used for karma.
