Is there a dictionary of majickal words on this site? I have some words that I'd like anyone to comment on regarding how they are defined, especially ''Wizard''. I've often heard males are also called witches and females can be wizards too, I'm confused about usages--generally speaking:
Wizards: males who are lore-masters of arcane and esoteric knowledge and practitioners of magic.
Witches: female versions of the same.
Sorcerors: similar but are usually associated with dark magic and call upon the powers of evil spirits to do their deeds.
Mage: a person who is able to utilize the powers of nature to bring about transformations.

there are many definitions with lost translations of words. Wizard can be female or male and is actually more of a HollyWood Coined term. Both males and Females in the Wiccan Religion as well as many pagan religions are called witches.
Sorcerors, most of the time they are associated with dark magic but there are many that do not associate with it at all.
As for mages the definition you've given is pretty close to what they really do.

I'm also giving you a suggestion, work on patience because waiting 3 days then posting that you are still waiting for a reply is not only irritating, but just rude. As the Priestess of this coven, my time is very limited, just as the priest, and many of the council members. I try to check this coven at least once every other day to try and answer questions. However, my time is divided between my husband, my family, teaching on blogtalkradio, blogtv, as well as making educational youtube video's for not only the coven, but for those who know nothing of the craft. So be patient and your questions will get answered.

I don't feel I said it in a rude manner. I'm sorry you took it that way. I certainly didn't mean it in that way.
I am new so I have no idea how long it normally takes to get answered.
Now I know. Thank you for telling me.

There is a book by Oberon Zell Ravenhart, he defines Wizards as ones who serve others and Sorcerors and Sorceress as ones who serve themselves. Wizards according to him cover female and male. Witches are just that witches. They are titles like any other.
Occultpedia which is an occult encyclopedia covers the words you are posting and more.
