Wand wood

Well i am wondering what good woods there are for wands the only i have avalible is fig , she-oak and willow what would be the best for a wand?

the way i understand it, you should use the wood that speaks to you the most. Not every wood will work well for each person. Meditate on the wood you have available and the right one will speak to you.

I always choose my wood according to my astrological sign. I am of the water element as I am a Cancerian, so a suitable wood would be from the water element as well. Subsequently, a suitable wood for me would be willow which my wand is made out of. Ornamentation wise, I have chosen moonstones and owl feathers as well as blue strings attached. All with the symbolism of the moon (which governed the Cancerian sign). I found that it works very well with me.

i hav made myself a wand recently, i dont know what type of wood it is but it doesnt exactly look like the average wand. the wood i made it out of is dead which i heard was good for working with necromancy and death essence because the dead wood can harbour death energy. There is are pictures of it attached to my profile that you can look at but i was wondering anyone would be able to identify the wood.

Pickel, all wands are made of "dead" wood. The wood that is the wand ceased living when it was detached from the tree. That being the case, you might want to look more closely at what sorts of woods might be useful for your purposes other than the simple fact that the wood is "dead".

And without the bark or leaves it would be almost impossible to tell what sort of wood you have there. What sorts of trees grew in the area where you found the wood? Many of us aren't from Tasmania and would have no idea about your particular trees.

I like to communicate with the wand or wood,
to find out how it feels energetically,
as well as if it is okay with being a wand,
and if it will respect me as the wand user.

I personally I'm using a hard-stringy wood,
since softer woods can get eaten by my rabbits.
even not all hardwoods are safe,
I made some maple chopsticks,
they were promptly devoured.

my current wand seems to be made of Oak,
I had sawed off a part of a dead trunk,
it was very difficult to split,
and tends to be a bit splintery,
but that makes it firm and strong.

Acacia is the best.

actually, any wood that con hold together and is not broken can be used but different woods give different results.

use whatever feel right to you and that you feel you can easily channel your energy threw.
Personalty, I don't use wands much, I perfure to simply use my hands to channel. But when I DO use a wand I like to use willow. You use what feels right to you though :)
