Amulet meaning, need help

Hello!

I have a little question. I found some kind of amulet from my home, it has some markings on it, like spiral symbols.. I'll post a pic here, so could anybody help me and maybe know what it means and what it may be used to? :)

I find that necklace very interesting and cool looking. It appears to be a Celtic style cross. The spirals could be symbolic or could just be decorative. Spirals appear to be common in Celtic imagery and the following link indicates some meanings attributed to the spiral symbol.
