Hey guys,
One of my closest friends has been depressed for quite a while now. She takes pills but they don't help her she self harms and used to be suicidal. So I was wondering if there was anything I could do to help her? A spell or a tea or anything? Thanks
Reccomending magical help for someone with clinical deppression, generally, isn't something done here. You'd want to talk to someone certified in Holistic healing or who is reputable that you can talk to, in person. Now, if she is seeing a psychologist, I reccomend you ensure they are informed, even if you have to go through said friend's parents to get to the doctor. Best of luck to your friend in this battle.
Tea in general is good, anything that helps her calm down or be relaxed, professional help seems to be covered but make sure she feels alright with it all. Just be there for her.
St. Johns Wort is a natural herb helps with depression. You can get it in capsule form at your local drug store. However, please make sure she talks to a holistic specialist and her primary care doctor/psychiatrist before she starts taking it. It can't be used simultaneously with other antidepressant/anti-anxiety drugs, and those kinds of drugs need decreased slowly. Most of them can't be stopped "cold turkey."
I work with crystals a bit, and smoky quartz plus rose quartz has helped me with my depression. Maybe embed one or both with positive energy and give them to her? Hope this suggestion helps some.
I also suffer from depression and take pills for it. Thankfully, my pills help a LOT. But every now and then I still need a pick me up. Something that work for me, and is easy to teach, is actually your basic centering. Now, be patient with your friend if they are depressed and haven't ever tried this before. One of the symptoms of depression can be a difficulty in holding a solid thought for even short periods of time. (Which makes your frustrated, and adds to the problem. It sucks.)
Something else you can try is ritual cleansing. Like a warm shower or a swim in the local pool. I have a river near my house and I'll just put my feet in then imagine all the frustration and anger flowing out and away from me. Then I take a deep breath and feel the good, clean energies already around me entering in to take the negative stuff's place.
Now, with all that said, depression is a chemical imbalance of the brain. Not a "I had a bad day so I'm sad" sort of thing. Seeing a doctor is highly recommended if their current prescription isn't cutting the bill.
