Hi everyone, I was having a discussion the other day with some of my other Pagan and not so Pagan friends. So here is the topic, very curious to see how everyone here feels.
So, we were talking about dreams and past lives and how they seem to coincide. (At least this is how some of us believe).
I made the suggestion that when we dream of things, places, and people that we don't know or have every been or things we do not own of see, it could be a memory from a past live that we are having. Maybe something in the present here triggered it to come to life.
As well for dreams, like I was saying to them, I have this reoccurring dream or a memory if you would, of these three men. Every time I see them, I feel as though I have known them before. I always call them my brothers in my dreams. But clearly they are not by blood brothers. ( I only have one brother in my life). But in my dreams I can feel my love and devotion to them as my brothers. Well one I have deeper feelings for. I guess I never really told him, or so I'm told in my dreams by the others, and I felt regret for never telling him.
So I tell my group about this for a discussion. Well some felt the same as I do, that this was a memory from a past life and I remember this because I must have passed on into another life carrying this regret. You know unfinished business.
So the others thought that it was maybe something I read or something I seen on TV. And that there is no way to remember anything of a past life, if they even existed.
I totaled disagreed with that. I believe that all of our lives whether its present or past, they some how intertwine with each other some how. And when we have deja vu or dreams of the people, place and things we can't explain, it's because something in our present lives have awakened a memory from a past life that we have already experienced.
My question is have do you feel about something like this?
I know as a scientific fact that all the faces we see in our dreams are from people we have seen in real life.Of course you won't even remember 1/10 of the faces you see in your everyday life, but our minds store that information and use it in our dreams. As for places in a dream the mind creates it's own unique location that is a mix of places you have seen either in person or through videos, pictures, etc. That is why sometimes we can't run in dreams, the mind limits itself to a certain space in the dream. And .So I have concluded (personal opinion) that dreams have no relation to previous life's as places, people and events all are the subconscious mind working with information we do not know we have to manifest itself.

Let me give a little scientific fact. DNA was first discovered in the 1950s; but scientists had known for many years that it was there. They knew it must exist, but did not know exactly what it was! Now, they know! DNA is so unique that it is now used to convict criminals, as it is much more reliable than fingerprints.
There has never been, at any time, any two living creatures that had the exact same DNA. There will never, at any time, be any other creature born with exactly the same DNA.
So, tell me. How could anyone possibly have had " a past life"?
Every claim of " a past life"; describing past events, talking in foreign "tongues",etc; have been subsequently proven to be "illusions".
Of course, anyone may believe anything they wish to believe. But a belief does not make it true!
First of all, there are living organisms that share the same DNA,only on a microorganism level.Secondly, I don't think DNA has anything to do with it as the soul according to it,the soul can take any physical human form during its reincarnations.(For the record I don't support the past life theory.)

The only living organisms that have the same DNA are single celled animals, such as the Sponge, who procreate by dividing the same cell. But Humans? No way! Souls are okay, if you believe that souls exist. There has never been any concrete evidence that they do!
But, as I have said many times on this site; you may believe anything you wish.
I pretty much said the same thing, I never said souls exist I just said that if they did and reincarnation was also true then DNA would have nothing to do with it.

I do believe in past life memories because I've been one of those lucky people that experienced them since I can remember. I remember the very first and most memorable was a repetitive dream. I was 3 years old when they started... It perhaps that's just when my long term memory kicked into development =p
My dream was in the 1940's complete with poodle skirts.I never see faces except for my own in mirrors. I was a teenager talking to a man that approached me and I was shy but attracted to him. The dream didn't stop reoccurring until I met my husband in this life. We've been together ever since, best friends.
But not all dreams are past lives. It's best to keep a dream journal. Past life memories feel like current ones. It's the best way I can describe it. It's like remembering something forgotten that opens up a big can of emotion.
We do have genetic memories as well. For instance, my kids have a huge attachment to their security blankets and run them through their fingers like I did as a child. I never grew out of my love for soft and silky blankets but I'm no longer partial to one! LOL
My daughter also has a similar repetitive and insignificant dream that I always have, that of walking through a field and having an insect fall from a tall leaf and startle us awake. Such a simple dream! But strangely one that has stuck with our genetics. How is the genetic memory dream different? It feels random and foreign.
Another, commonly misunderstood dream type is ones that are constructions of our subconscious as it processes what we otherwise do not consciously know or consider. Those are the stuffs of the dream realm that dream walkers, path walkers and soul retrievers journey through (shamans, hedge witches, medicine people, etc). This is also known as the microcosm. Everything here is apart of us, manifestations of fears, doubts, guilt, hopes, dreams, people in our lives past and present, and even childhood fantasies. It's everything that makes us, well, us! But deep enough into the microcosm, one can discover past memories because they are also apart of us, but they are often buried and for good reason! Digging them back up can cause all the emotions and attachments they entail to come flooding back. Imagine being happily married and then remembering a love affair far greater-- And that individual happens to be in your life ti. Dun, dun, dun! Big trouble! That's why purposely regressing can be life altering and mentally and emotionally challenging.
I can't stress enough that if you purposely regress that you take the time to heal as you go along. One that for is opened, there is no going back. Be sure it's what you want and be prepared for relationships in your current life and your outlook to change.
I've been purposely regressing for 10 years because I experience too many leaks that created unanswered questions and unexplainable intense emotions. My first self regressed recall was the murder of my daughter and you can imagine the emotions there. It's not fun. It is worth it only if you already remember things half way and can't heal or find peace without getting the rest of the information. So tred carefully.
