Could someone please help me understand Thelema more.

the best way I believe is to start with reading the book of Law by aleister crowley, and read about Aeon of Horus.
Then pondering out topics of interest from the book Ceremonial magick by Abraham of Worms.

The Book of the Law/Liber Legis is a good place to start, however, it will be confusing. Instead I would look at Crowley's commentaries on this book which can be found online.

A great beginners book written by Crowley is Magick without Tears. After this, I would check out Liber ABA/Book 4. All of this can be found online for free.

A little late to the post but I'm thelemanistic. Thelema is a polytheistic philosophy based around the ideal that each person has their own True Will.

I wouldn't say Thelema is necessarily polytheistic at all. Thelema is essentially all about finding the True Will. One can be a Thelemite and an Atheist. One can also be a Thelemite and a monotheist.

I'm sure you could cherry pick the religion and only adopt the philosophy of it. The religion does come with multiple gods and goddesses, however, and I would be remiss not to mention that.

There are, however, they are usually thought of as being simply a reflection of the one God/source/kether. That is my point, Thelema recognises other Gods, as well as everything in existence as permutations from a source of oneness. It is therefore polytheistic and monotheistic at the same time. Or soft polytheism as it is known in some circles.

Of course some Thelemites can also take the stance that Gods and Goddesses are portions of our own psyche. I am personally not one of these, however, it is becoming increasingly popular. Which is why Thelemites can also be atheistic.
