Charcoal dust

Could charcoal dust be added to a spell to make it burn faster? If so would this change the outcome?

If it isn't hazardous to anyone's health, then yes. Some people do add gun powder to their spells, not the ones with open flames of course, to add a "pow" to the spell. Sympathetic practices allow for a lot of creativity.
