Does anyone out hereon the interweb happen to now what his Egyptian name is? All I could find was that the jackal can mean judge or jackal or sab or zab.
Anpu, Anupu, etc, are Budge translations. These have been rejected by the Egyptology community as biased and vastly outdated. Current translations are Inepu, Yinepu, etc, which reflect current knowledge about the ancient Egyptian language. (As opposed to knowledge that is almost a century old.)
