Information on options

I am searching for information on any system of belief that places the spouse as the being to be worshipped. Not just clauses inside of a belief that dictate appreciation, but rather entire practices devoted to praising and adoring ones person, with that person being the spouse of the worshipper.

As far as religions go, you're kind of out of luck; most religions center around powers faster than humankind can offer, so one can't physically touch them. Beyond that, marrying somebody doesn't really qualify them for godhood. I guess there might be a cult out there, but usually you worship one person specifically because they are god-touched or a prophet, or sometimes even a god inhabiting a person.

So short answer, not that I can think of.

Look into Gnosticism, which places heavy emphasis on the significance of mutual appreciation (actually goes much further than appreciation but I can't think of the right word) and where the marital chamber can be described as 'holy'. Even some of this in Christianity - in the Catholic Bible wisdom section one is told one should 'adore' the wife's breasts.
