The belief behind Ayurveda is reaching your highest and healthiest potential through the balance of mind, body, and spirit. Some of the main and most commonly known practices with Ayurveda are oil pulling, yoga, dry brushing, and self-oil massages. Though it's much more than that. Ayurveda has a total of 8 branches, but Ayurveda itself has two main parts. Ojas and Ama. Ojas, is the good and health and balance energy while Ama is the opposite. Along with two principles. Many people do practice Ayurveda without even knowing it. Ayurveda is said to be the oldest health system being over 5,000 years old found in India and still being practiced globally today.
Yoga:
Yoga and Ayurveda are best friends, in a way. We cant become our highest selves without enlightenment and being our healthiest selves. And yoga does just that. Not only that but yoga helps us become more balanced being an amazing meditation practice as well. Because the more balanced and healthier we become the more spiritual aware we become. Yoga is also one way to connect with your Annamaya Kosh. Being the healthiest person isn't the end goal but rather a goal that is going to help us become our highest selves.
Unseen Health:
Ayurveda does help us and help our subtle energy become stronger. When you feel like something is off or something bad might happen which later turned into a sickness that is your subtle energy within you. Which is also known as The Five Bodies (which I will be talking about).
The 2 Main Principles:
Preservation of health: How to maintain wellness and what to do to keep your body healthy and to avoid sickness by all means.
Methods, medicine, and tactics for disease management and ailments: How to cure and return to your healthiest form.
The first principle is based on prevention while the second is all about balance. These two are practiced together and very important with Ayurveda.
The 8 Branches:
I will only be naming them in this form, in the comments, I will be explaining:
Kaya Cbikitsa, Urdbvaanga Chikitsa, Damstra Chikitsa, Sbalya Chibikita, Bala Chikitsa, Graba Chikitsa, Jara Chikitsa, Vrisbya Chikitsa. The 8 branches are mainly about the different aspects of healing within Ayurveda.
View of Life:
Within Ayurvedic, there is a human life definitive purpose. Which falls into pursuits: Dlbarma, Artba, Kama, and Moksha.
Dlbarma is about 10 values each person should have. (I'll be listing them in the comments).
The reason why I am going to be listing the different things that fall under the topics I talked about is that they're long and I don't want everything in one form.
Resources/References (for all topics and things within the topics that I will talk about in the comments)
Annamaya is your physical body. When you feel comfortable in your physical body this you connecting with Annamaya Kosha. When you feel uncomfortable you arent connected. Which can cause addiction and binge eating and other things.
Connecting with Annamaya Kosh you can eat mindfully, practice yoga, self-oil massage, and move your body in a that feels good. Which includes dance and any other form of physical activity.
Pranamaya: Energy and Energetic
Your pranamaya energy is the energy you give off to others. And you can also pick up on others as well. When you're connected you are calmer and won't easily become frustrated. When you're not connected this can make your emotions inbalance and you can get very easily frustrated and have a breakdown.
Connecting with your Pranamaya Kosh you can practice controlling your breath. Notice your breath and take deeper and slower ones. And become more aware of the subtle energies around you including nature, not just people.
Manomaya: Mind and mental body
Your Manomaya Kosh is you, everything you do, it's your mental self. It's becoming more aware of the world around you. Everyone has their own unique eye of the world may it be bad or good it's still your perspective. When you're not connected to your Manomaya Kosh you become self-obsessed, unsure, egotistical, and unconfident in your self.
When you're connected with your Manomaya Kosh you are more confident, intelligent, aware, and overall have a lot of self-love for you.
To feel more connected you can say I am with a good heartfelt sentence such I am going to rock today I am going to experience something new and amazing, or even I am beautiful
Express your unique self.
Vijnanamaya: Wisdom and Intuitive body
I like to think of your Vijinanamaya your gut feeling. It's that voice that guides you and helps you. And although we don't always listen to it and sometimes we wish we had it's still there. Or sometimes this voice helps you make the best decisions of your life. The more connected you are with your Vojanamaya the most of this gut feeling you have. You realize that you have the free will to make decisions in your life. Hence why within this Kosha you always have Yamas and Niyama the ethical rules that you not to do dumb stuff.
Ways to connect with your Vijnanamaya Kosh are to realize you are not your ego but the soul beneath it. Clear your mind and follow that gut feeling. your intuition.
Anadamaya Bliss and blissful body.
Beyond the koshas you achieve self-realization. In your truest form, is a blissful being. Think of it as dancing, the dancer follows the step but once the dancer actually becomes one with the dance having everything balanced becoming one with the rhythm it's becoming one. Through mind, body, and spirit alignment you can experience a bliss body in your daily life. When you heal the body, slow your breath, become more aware of your surroundings and the energies, let go of your ego, and listen to your intuition, you achieve self-realization. Ways to connect with your blissful body would be practice yoga, meditation, play a musical instrument, dance, sing, and get lost in nature.
Within Ayurveda, we're all branches of one tree. Nobody is different from each other but were all connected and the same. When you treat your body with love you're bound to feel loved and attract love from all around you. Satisfaction and blissfulness are two different things. Underneath all the five bodies were all one; pure bliss.
Disclaimer: I do suggest getting help also from a doctor because the balancing process might not always work. And I will be putting links to balancing each dosha in the first thread.

Do not be controlled by desires because that leads to a downfall.
I find it very nice and useful. I have been studying Ayurveda since 2015 and find the parts I have study or practice help alot for myself and those who seek my advice on well being. I also enjoy the fact you partake in the other Vedas and not just going off Ayurveda like many others do
