Disc. Divination

So this is something that I've thought about doing for a while, and felt it would be a fun way to get more people active in the public forums. Weekly topics to get members discussing, involved, etc. The topic this week, Divination!

Topic:

  • Divination

Questions:

  1. Do you work with any forms of divination?
  2. Do you have a favorite divination method?

I prefer tarot over pretty much anything else I've studied, though I've also used a pendulum.

Not too long ago I purchased a copy of Madam le Marchand's Fortune Teller and Dreamer's Dictionary. It was written in the 1800s, and includes instructions for many different kinds of divination popular among socialites at the time, as well as how to recognize common scams and perform some of your own (again, the kinds mor frequent in that time). I don't know if I'd use it as much as book to read for entertainment, as I would simply use it for reference.

Has anyone else used that book? What was your experience?

Oh, I love this idea!

1. I practice divination in many forms, including tarot, pendulum, cartomancy, scrying, candle readings, etc. I'd love to begin rune work, but I haven't had the money to purchase a set yet so I've simply been studying the meanings.

2. I don't have a favorite method, but I tend to default to tarot or pendulum as I have years of experience with these and have bonded pretty well with my deck and pendulum. I started with cartomancy before tarot, but I don't really practice that as frequently. I tend to only use scrying during spellwork for divination.

  1. I do. I have two methods I use.
  2. I work with ceromancy, reading candle wax that is dripped into cold water. I enjoy this form of divination because I love working with candles and candle wax. I also really like interpreting the images I get. You never quite get the same ones.I also do quite a bit of work with tarot cards. I prefer my ceromancy readings, but I also really enjoy tarot as well. Each card is unique and really carries with it its own energy and personality.
