A college of mine who does witchcraft old me that he uses his vape juices and vape pens to influence the spell or ritual. Does anyone do this? I vape but if it can be used as a item in craftwork I'll like to know, as I cannot use candles or incense. Thanks in advance.
My knowledge is a bit limited with this kind of practice, as I do not personally smoke or vape. But I understand there are practices out there which involve directly smoking a herb or tobacco. The object being to first breathe in the essence of the product, infuse it with will then blow the smoke out to release your intent boosted by the qualities of what is being smoked.
For example saying a prayer of protection, pulling a drag of tobacco (believed to be a valuable offering to spirits and guardians when burned, especially if raw tobacco is used) and blowing the resulting smoke over another person to impart the blessing onto them specifically.
The main caveat in this is of course safety. Some herbs are poisonous when inhaled, and then there are the effects of smoke inhalation in general. These types of things are meant to be done only as needed, and with purpose.
I can see how using vape equipment can work with this, especially if you can get comparable 'juice. Though you still need to be aware of the supplies you are using. Vape juice has far fewer controls on it than people think, and the manufacturers don't always list all of the ingredients used. Be careful of your sources, and treat it like smoking as far as health is concerned.
The use of herbs and the smoke from burning them for magical intent has been around for centuries. The modern vaping trend is really no different, but as stated prior the juice may not be pure or it can contain other ingredients that could be harmful. Ways to use smoke magically are; as an offering, to cleanse a person, place, or other object, purification, healing, protection, to energize, and even to simply aid in the manifestation of one's intent or will. I personally have used a vape pen as well as other forms of smoking in conjunction with my healing magic. Currently I am seeing great improvement in my lung health since quitting the inhalation of burning plant material rolled in paper or smoked in a pipe and sticking to the use of a vape instead. I have also noticed I utilize less because my body and mind do not require as much as I continue to heal.
Some tips to using a vap instead of the other methods;
1. When using as a way to manifest intention, physically handle and charge the vape, roll it between your fingers or palms charging it with your energy and thoughts. This is similar in action to rolling but a bit easier to remain focused on the desired result rather than the more complex action of rolling a smokeable stick of herbs wrapped in paper.
2. Continue to remain focused on the desired result as you inhale deeply, holding on to both as you infuse your energy again with the smoke while it's in your lungs. As you breath out you release your intentions into the universe. This could also be released onto something specific to cleanse or bless the item or space.
3. Remember that everyone is different and everyone's body and mind reacts differently to things. What works for one may not work for another. Do the research needed to make an educated decision. Cross reference and get as much info as you can about a topic before tying something that may or may not be right for you.
If you were summoning a demon you could have them manifest in the smoke. There will be a lot more smoke than there would be if you used an incense. However I would recommend using a scent that’s related to them because using bubblegum may be disrespectful I’m not sure as I haven’t used a vape for that kind of practice it’s quite improper.
