Hi.

Most serious practitioners are not willing to take a student. It is a big responsibility, and also to note is the desire not to spoon feed someone information that a seasoned practitioner took years of study to learn.

I have been a witchcraft practitioner for going on 25 years and I have read about five or six books on the actual topic of witchcraft.

I have instead learned numerous topics related to the craft and what information I learned I sought for myself. Nobody taught me and my practice is as valid as a witchcraft practitioner whom has read 30 books on witchcraft.

Witchcraft can be learned even without books, or teaches.

Aside from this there is a big drawback to having a teacher and that is the pitfall of your own craft and opinions being shaped by the teacher. I feel those new to the craft need to take the time to figure out how they feel about topics of paganism and importantly why they feel like that.

It is not likely you will find a mentor on this site who is serious.

But, you can ask questions about topics which interest you here in the forums.

There is a lot of good advice in this thread already.

As a solitary practitioner I have learned a great deal on my own but I also gained a lot of insight, knowledge, and wisdom, through the guidance of multiple elders of vastly different physical ages and practices. As an experienced caster of almost 30 years who has read an extensive library of books, articles, and other writings on the craft and it's many aspects I can advise it is always best to cross reference information as you research and practice. I suggest researching on your own while you also connect to other practitioners such as those whom have responded here to your post.Not everyone will be helpful and friendly. Some may try to steer you in a specific direction or flat out give you bad advice and information. Focus on increasing your abilities by strengthening your psychic capabilities, learn to trust your gut or instincts but also learn to shield against those who feed off of other's energy or have a negative effect on your energy.

Below are some links to books we carry in the site shop that may be of interest to you;
