it takes time to learn

I have a waite deck also, but my usual spreads aren't "classic" so to speak. For example, to do a reading of myself I simply find my indicator card (the one that represents/describes me, then I draw four cards.. past, present, future, and influence/vice. No definite spot for them, but it tends to pan out perfectly. My advice, just go with what feels right. :D

Oh yea, and I shuffle while clearing my mind, and cut often for sureness..

Do you mix them up in a big pile or is there a special way

I don't think there is a way set in stone.. like I said I just go with what I feel is right. There are very few ways to divine improperly..

personally i use a bridge shuffle to mix them, but i dont necessarily use spreads unless they call to me.

You work your cards the way that "feels" right to you. Remember, Tarot is an intuitive tool. Go with your gut and comfort.
