Why would you blame king James?

I assume because the King James version of the bible was influenced by King James. The opinion is that he dictated what should and should not be in the bible according to how it would help him politically, not what was originally written to be in the bible.

It's all sad really.

I personally don't enjoy repressing my beliefs and practices.

Though I'm at a point in my life that even my firey personality couldn't do much to help people understand. I'm afraid it's a common case.

That's when we do start asking ourselves, "what if..."

When I read these articles it just makes me so mad, and sad too. As if christianity was the only way, as if witchcraft was all evil, they make paganism sound like the excrement of society, as if there was no morale in its practtioners. The ignorance about everything, even Satanism. And I can just imagine the poor guys mental state, I bet everyone is looking at him like a freak or something.

The teacher is allowed his own personal beliefs on the subject of magick, witchcraft, Wicca and everything else in between. That's a right each of us have whether we agree with opposing thoughts or not.

I believe he took personal responsibility by not voicing these concerns until asked ( if he was quoted properly ).

The guy admitts he doesn't allow ANY religious objects to be made in his classroom, even from his own faith and for that I applaud him.

As far as this kid is concerned...I don't think we should all remain in the broom closet, but I fail to see why it's so freaking important to jump up and down and scream " I'm a witch! I'm a Wiccan! Not only will I proudly state it when no one asks or gives a hoot, but I expect special accomedations because of it".

I think kids ( and some adults ) need to learn a bit of personal responsibility. Yes, we have the right to believe what we want. We have the responsibility to not expect special treatment because of it. And the teacher has a point. Many people fought to have religion taken out of classes so as not to discriminate against those who don't believe and those who it would make uncomfortable. Why should this kid get a free pass and kids of other religions not?

I believe people should think on this article and see the various viewpoints . I understand that the Seperation of churh and state should be identified expecially in school and goverment as well as libraries how come say when I go to a school I have seen a bible in a library does that not contradict this valid point. Simple direct answer is yes . In a way both parties were at falt the teacher for making biased comments or such and the student for bringing the book to school though as one could just easlly copy such to a piece of paper and use as a diagram.

thats like me, after i read the article i took a wiccan "bible" to school (i go to a adventist school) and my religious studies teacher looked at me, asked a few questions about wiccans and then said to me that if thats what i want to read then he was cool with that... which is refreshing =)

This is sad, being raised ina very strict christian community and school I know what its like to be treated like that. Witchcraft or Wicca does not have anything to to do with human sacrifices or the christians satan, even the satanism tradition doesnt believe in satan.

I suppose so. I was refering to Levay's stanism religion and bible.
