Scorpio, I do not trust "beliefs", only evidence! Sometimes, of course, a belief is also true. But mostly not! As you say, a belief is true to the believer; but is not always fact! There are members who believe that they can turn into vampires; they believe it to be true. But,is it?
I've been exposed to magic since I was younger. But my home environment never permitted me the privacy to practice until now that I'm in college where I have the privacy to practice, but I am limited to practices not involving anything being burned. I can't light incense or candles in my dorm. So it is hard to be able to focus. As well as people running and screaming down the halls. My room is private, but not peaceful. To the environment to be able to practice in is complicated.
If you want to use a Ouija board in your room but it's too hard to concentrate, it's not going to work. Since you're in college though, there are usually a ton of places around especially once it starts getting dark where you can go and sit in peace. At mine we had a rose garden which was perfect for just sitting and meditating. It might be hard getting your grandfather if he's busy on the other side. From stories I've read, it takes about three months to get hold of someone - sometimes even longer. One trick is to build a small temple to invite him to on the astral plane while meditating. It'll be easier to bring him there than to have him cross onto the physical. You don't need incense, candles, etc. for it. Just keep thinking of the temple until it becomes real and keep asking for your grandfather to come visit. One day he'll be there.

Scorpio, Those who claim to be Sanquines are merely engaging in a lifestyle. They are pretending to be vampires. They may even believe they are vampires. But in neither case does that make them actually vampires.
Just because someone believes something does not make it true. At one time a lot of people believed the Earth was flat. But of course their belief was incorrect, the Earth is round as we have proven over and over.

Scorpio, I am here because I am a natural witch. You may practise witchcraft and still believe in a religion, or no religion at all.I have no religion. Although I sympathise to some extent with Wicca.
Well everyone has their own ways of working their magic. If some people find themselves to be empowered by blood, then I don't see how they are pretending if that is what works for them.
Whether the belief is is proven to be true or not by everyone else, as long as the individual believes in something, it is true to that person. And that's just as important.
