I don't really believe in Ghosts either also if there were such thing then Ghosts only come back when they either have unfinished business or are trapped between this world and the next
As far as Ghosts go- I don't believe anyone who is alive would actually know what happens in death. I do believe that spirits get left behind but not because they want to. I personally feel that some don't know they are gone and continue to live the same life that they used to. Although I have had some very wise advice and lessons from a person (witch) whom I have great respect for, when it comes to ghosts I disagree. I have seen ghosts since I was three and the last one I saw was about 3.5 years ago. I don't believe that you can will yourself to be a ghost. Why would you want to?
@ahs here is my two cents worth. Ghosts are very real, in fact we are surrounded by spirits nearly at all times. Secondly, if you were to just die at this very instant you would not be a ghost, not that simple. Ghosts are formed as a) trace remnants of a violent act b) of person(s) who pass without knowing they have passed c) curses d) bound to a location based on overwhelming emotions and many more. There are different types of ghosts from the hungry ghost (china) to the ghosts who are made manifest by young children (poltergeists) to full scale malevolent beings who are grabbed between our realms.
What limitations are there? Spirits are bound by their own rules and we the living have no place to learn that rule and attempt to boss around the dead. Secondly, ghosts do not like to be bullied or forced to help the living and there is always a cost in trying to harness them. Ghosts are, depending on when they died in relation to the now, trapped in a time loop where they still see the world as it was then, forget what you see on television as most of these 'shows' just create spectral 'disturbances' for ratings sake.
Can ghosts effect the living? Absolutely, they can manipulate our natural energy which can cause us to become weak/sick, in poltergeists they are able to cause physical harm utilizing telekinesis i.e manipulating a persons energy to move objects.
My advice is this,
Focus on the living, not the dead unless you are into necromancy and that is a completely different path altogether. Respect the dead at all times, never ...ever..call out a ghost alone or attempt to summon anything alone even if you are the most skilled magician, that is the first major no. Hope that helps some?
as far as im concerned you die you're a spirit you chose to chill on the earth so be, they have little to no influence on the physical and i don't think there are types but i have never thought about it you know a spirits a spirit a spirit
I agree with most everything that you have said. I feel that some people think that it would be cool. But unless you have dealt with a ghost or spirit you would not think so. I was terrified of the ghosts that I've seen through the years ( I was three is the earliest I remember). It wasn't until I was 21 that I finally decided not to fear the ones I see. But there are some that are terrifying and I pray that I never see again.

at the time of death the ethereal cord is cut, the spirit (not ghost) then returns home, a ghost is an imprint on a vibration level much like your thumb print it is am imprint in time nothing more

The problem,Bettyjo, is proof! There isn't any! People have claimed to photograph ghosts; but they have always turned out to be shadows,reflections in windows,or the effect of sun light through stained glass.People have felt a chill in a cold building; it is always just a cold building.Many people say that have seen ghosts; but they were always alone. No witness. Scientists have looked at the idea of ghosts with the most up-to-date technology. Nothing has ever come of it.If you believe in spirits and ghosts, then they are very real to you! They are just not real to me!
That makes total sense. I understand that many things make people think that they have seen or felt ghosts. Even electronic pulses from energy used in houses can cause people to think that they have seen ghosts. When I was three we lived in a huge house. I remember my mother putting me to bed. It was still daylight out. Many times that I went to bed a Scary face appeared to me in a dresser mirror. I never told anyone. It wasn't until I was an adult that a discussion came up about spirits or ghosts per say. That house that I saw the scary face in the mirror came up. I still did not say anything until my mother told me that we moved one day suddenly because she saw the face in the mirror. I have uncles who say they saw things there and after visiting would not come back. The house still stands about 1.5 hours from where I live now. The people who own the house now use it for storage and live in a trailer behind the house. No one will live there and have not lived there for many years. My mother does not believe in ghosts to this day. Where it be ghosts, spirits or just bad negative energy, this was the first time I remember seeing something. It wasn't the last. I have no problem with people not believing in ghosts( my husband is a non-believer). I do believe because I have seen. Even if it was my imagination, I never told about it ,but others saw the same thing. To me that is proof.
