I will say I found them interesting books even though my opinions on men sparkling still stands whether someone finds them insulting or not. I never found that attractive, at all.
Though easily looked over. At first, I really enjoyed Edward's character. Eventually he was assimilated and lost half his brain which was a major "turn-off" (for lack of a better word).
Stephanie Meyer is a good writer in my opinion. With different twists to the typical vampire does draw in attention. The plot could have used some work after all... the entire book was about a girl who couldn't keep herself out of trouble no matter how many times she was warned while her relatively naive, vampire boyfriend came to the rescue every time (the more harsh version of the plot).
Twilight was excellently written depending on the standard concepts of written fiction. It brought on a great deal of varying emotions (I almost threw Breaking Dawn across the room); it had decent vocabulary and syntax; it had an easy point, and though predictable- "what did Bella do now?", it made me want to keep reading and find out what the answer to that question, it was also simple and clear reading.
Unfortunately it was written a little too much to the standards and fantasies of a pre-teen girl as the very personalities of the leading characters eventually made me quite aggravated.
I'm w/ you on that! Vampires that sparkle! Give me a brake! What a bunch of poopy! (-:
Yeah Vampires are supposed to burst into flames not sparle as if their skin was made out of powdered diamonds! It looks kindda cool I must admit, but stupid!
Hey and what ever happened to the good old Vampire movies that portray them strong, beautiful, handsome, superior, powerful, misterious...?
All the new movies suck!

I actually did use to love these books, but seriously as time passed by and I
re-read. I agree that the whole Idea of vampires sparkling really is stupid.
I agree with Lady_Snow. She's actually good writer, but I think she could do a whole lot better without writing vampire fiction.
I am quite a Twilight fan, not huge but there you have it. Vampires sparkling, well here's the thing, there is no law which states Stephanie Meyer had to write a book which classes your typical vampire. Whether anyone likes it or not she wrote a book with a vegan sparkly vampire and thats what her readers wanted to read. It's new, it's different, and as you can see it attracted alot of attention. Would she have done as well with your traditional vampire? I honestly doubt it, from a writing point of view it has been done before.

All the more. Its kind of exciting to see a vampire sparkling, yes it is different which is a good fact. But it is rather odd at the same time. Credit goes to Stephenie for trying.
Only If I had sparkly skin *sigh*. Though Im not a Vampire. Ok, that sounds 'girly' o.0

For the love of god someone lock this thread, just my opinion, Stephanie is not writing books for witches, its for normal people who just love fiction so just leave twilight alone. I love twilight but i don't encourage role playing. Twilight is not the problem its people who have trouble discerning fiction from fact.
I understand when some books twist the information giving the public false impressions but there are too many layers of other vampire info for twilight just to change around.
just my little view no need to argue over twilight.; At least for once vamps can actually look attractive.
