The wolf in Native American culture and lore is considered to be a "Medicine Being", associated with courage, strength, loyalty, and success at the hunt. Some Northwestern coast tribes/ bands have stories of a wolf transforming into the first man. The Shoshone Tribe lore tells of the Creator being a wolf. All animals can be worked with in medicine. Good and bad medicine is their way of discerning magic outcome. Obviously bad medicine hurts people. Everything in nature has is own medicine.
But silver eyed wolf sounds like a shape shifter. A wolf spirit would look like an ordinary wolf. What you saw was likely a nature spirit that took the form of a wolf. So wolf lore won't matter. Take it as is and wait. If the spirit wants your attention this will not be the last you dream of those silver eyes. The eyes never lie, but form is not concrete in the other worlds.
I never understood this obsession with wolves! A wolf is a perfectly ordinary wild pack animal. Nothing really mysterious or magical about the animal.

Brysing, you don't have to be rude. Wolves are just as good as any of your favorite or most connected with animals. Every animal has their own powers and special abilitys. Wolves are most commonly classified as messengers, guides, knowledgeable helpers, protecters and more. If you have ever meditated and even tried to understand any animals (especially through meditation), then you would understand. And I would say that that was a bit uuncalled for, considering that there was no role-playing or anything of fantasy, just asking a question about a spirit in her dream.
Besides, I've seen that wolf before. Black with silver eyes in a vision of mine. But it was male in the vision that I saw during a storm.
I used to love wolves until I needed rabies shots because somebodies pet half wolf / half dog got loose on base and I got bit. Poor wolf hybrid did not ask to be a pet and not be innoculated and get infected but I avoid wolves now here and the astral plane. The guy who owned her ended up in jail over it but the animal was still infected and put down. When I dream of wolves it is usually a nightmare. Very sad. A black wolf with silver glowing eyes has chased me in dreams snarling the whole way. I figure it is just a dream and means nothing. Sometimes dreams are just that. My bad experience is to blame for nightmares but movies of werewolves are to blame for a silver eyed black wolf. Hope that helps. :-)
Brysing, I don't know why people are obsessed with wolves either. Most of the time I have no control over my dreams, so thing happen that I cannot control. I like wolves, they're cool and all, but I am not obsessed with them. As I recall, Native Americans were big on the spiritual side of wolves.
I wasn't being rude! I was merely observing that there is nothing mystical, or magical, about wolves. And I mentioned buying a dog, because all breeds of dog were originally bred from the wolf! If you wish to study the wolf, it is a difficult subject in the wild. Much easier to study a domesticated tame dog!
Your dream is interesting because years ago I had an almost identical dream. I was in the woods and was suddenly confronted by a silver eyed wolf that stood like a man. He may have even been part man. He stood face to face with me, and warned me that I needed to get back on the red path and start living my life better.
Yes, they can be messengers. And whoever the idiot was that didn't understand what makes wolves so special, stop trying because you obviously have no sense of spirituality.
